This is a bit of a misleading stat. He scored 6 in 9 for Hampton & Richmond and 2 in 2 for Dover. Most his loan spells have been just 2-3 games at a club.
He has got an impressive record over a limited number of appearances but a good mini-run below the Conference doesn’t mean he was always ready for League 2 football.
I hope he stays though
Er it's not misleading it's factual. He can only score goals at the level he is sent to play at!
Initially as a 17 year old making his first steps into senior football and ending up with a one in two record in a League two.
You make it sound like he scored consistently in his loan spells which isn’t the case. He was prolific at some clubs, others he failed to score at.
I agree it’s an excellent strike rate but the sample size and the level he was playing at doesn’t make it a strong argument for him to have played for us before he did
I pointed out his overall record which is a goal every two games, the higher he's played the better he's been. Keeping Alabi despite him being transfer listed and clubs willing to take him, when we has Matt Harold as a far better "big striker" option was madness. It stopped Sotiriou's development letting Alabi go iwould have allowed Ruel a place on the bench at the start of the season. It was also nuts to give out contract extensions like smarties to senior pros who were and have been injury prone and yet only a year to an up and coming young talent.
You can break down and dissect Sotiriou's goal scoring record anyway you like but it's probable one of the clubs best young striking talents for years is about to leave the club because of a skewed selection and contract policy.

Two points against that Sid;
1. Embleton stated that he cant last 95 minutes as yet, both fitness-wise and with concentration - based on his Dover performances
2. If Happe stays, can we play two left footed centre halves together?
Also a Ogie is a left back. I know he's played centre half for the under 18s but it better to let him develop in his natural position.

The Club won't be selling our best players until most of us have renewed our season tickets
....... they're not stupid

Much of his time playing football has been at Centre Half, time will tell as to what his best position turns out to be. As a rule, harder to find centre halves than left backs and thus top centre halves tend to fetch higher transfer fees than left backs.

This indeed. If they are signing elsewhere then it'll be just after the early-bird discount period finishes.

Is it you that used to go on about this?
Most teams will have two right footed centre halves. Just as most teams will have two right footed central midfielders and two right footed strikers.

I have a bad feeling about all this.
But at least if it doesn't go according to plan, you can tell us you was right and that your ego will still be intact and you can claim the cerdit for being right.
At least you won't need to change your agenda mid summer.
I hope you're right, I don't like seeing a fellow big shot being proven wrong.
