IS IT JUST ME!
As I don't have Sky, my Premier League football on the telly has consisted of the highlights on Match of the Day. Having been able to watch a few Premier League games on BBC and Sky 1 recently, I've been amazed at just how bad many of the players in the 'ordinary' teams in the Premier League are. The only live games I see are the Orient games.
I'm thinking that I might be a little hard on the Os players. I moan when they play the way they do sometimes and I think they are not very good. Whilst that may be right, they don't seem to be any worse than many of the players for Bournemouth, Sheffield Utd, Norwich, Aston Villa, Newcastle etc. There is a reason that many of these teams are going to get relegated, but even so. The only reams that have good players are the top ones, Liverpool, Man City, Chelsea etc. Even Man Utd struggled to beat a pretty poor Norwich in the FA Cup.

Yep. Turgid dross for the most part. The incredible marketing by SKY over the years (and the huge audiences in Asia now) the reason for premier league success. Nobody can convince me that 90 mins of Shef Utd vs Aston Villa as an example is a good watch. Far better sports out there.

I have Virgin Media and Sky 1 is included in the package. Never usually watch it (in fact I don't think I've ever watched it before), but my son told me it was on, so I tried it.

Re: IS IT JUST ME!
The games so far have been very poor, in my opinion also, and really it shows how important a crowd in the stadium is.
The atmosphere with the tinned crowd noises has been awful. The Spurs v West Ham game last week was boring and I imagined how pissed off I would have been if I’d paid £75 for a ticket to watch that.
Sad part is that most PL teams start the season knowing that they haven’t a chance in hell of actually winning it, but just play to stay in it for the huge financial rewards.
Massive clubs like Newcastle, Aston Villa, Arsenal, Spurs , Everton etc are very unlikely to win it for some time.
Man City and Liverpool are so far ahead of the others it’s getting boring.
At least in League 2 most teams start the season with genuine aspirations of promotion or winning the league.

And watching the L2 play-off matches, no way were we any worse than those 4 teams for most of the time in our matches that I was able to attend.
But the players in the PL are so much quicker and the play is a lot faster, our players would not survive that week-in, week-out.

Re: IS IT JUST ME!
What games did you watch

Without Cissé that Northampton side tonight would've stuck 8 past us, they've got pace and a bit of filth with McCormack in there (notice that bit of dark arts he did to draw the red card, that's what it's all about)
