BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
First thought is Peter Kitchen in the FA Cup replay agaist Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. He cut in from the right and glided past Ron "chopper" Harris and Micky "man mountain" Droy before calmly passing it into the net. Those two defenders you wouldant want to meet on a dark night down the Kings road.
The more i think about "Kitch" the more i am just grateful to see such a talent at Brisbane road.
Round of applause for George Petchey

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
2nd goal against Chelsea was a far better goal .
Roeder winning a ball in defence , pushed forward then plays a 50 yard diagonal cross field ball, touch by joe for control & centred to Kitch controlled & Bang.

Luton at home - 17619 crowd
11am kick off - fog and freezing
Peter Allen
we win 1-0
35 yard screamer - they dont dome back
start believing we can do this - we go top

Matt Lockwood's in the playoff semi vs Hull, 2001.
I was in the south stand almost in line with the shot and could see it was going in as soon as he hit it.

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Carl Griffiths - away at Scunthorpe.
A bitterly cold Tuesday night in early 2001. It was so cold, both myself and the guy sitting next to me, were too numb to even roll a fag. I remember finding a packet of Marlboro in my coat pocket....sheer joy (and yes, I did give him a few).
Having been ripped off in the car park at the ground - being charged £1 for a ticket that had 50p printed on it, things were already looking bleak.
The Iron got an early goal (think it was Hodges who I believe we were chasing for a couple of seasons?). Despite a decent game, we were pressing well but to no avail. I remember just sitting there asking myself why I'd driven all that poxy way midweek for nothing; whilst contemplating a long, boring drive home (not to mention having to be on the road at 6am next morning).
Late in the game, up steps our Saviour - Lord Griffiths. I'm sure that he mis-kicked as there was hardly any power in it. Their goalie dived to the right to collect; and I'm sure it hit a divot in the turf or something - as it just seemed to bounce over him; and appeared to go in slow motion into the net.
"Super, Super Carl"!
Oh what absolute joy getting a point! It's even better when the goal is banged in to the one you are sitting behind.
The drive back home wasn't anything near as bad as I'd envisaged.
So not a classic or briliant goal - but certainly one of the 'best' that has long stuck in my memory.

Coxy's goal away to Walsall where he scored from inside our own half was amazing . That would have to be my all time favourite Orient goal.

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Any goal in the two Chelsea games mentioned earlier (except Bill Roffey chipping over Stonewall Jackson); for the 78 replay I was in The Shed!
But for sheer audacity, Gary Alexander at home vs Oldham. Picked the ball up outside the penalty box to their keeper’s left (in front of the South Stand), progressed a yard inside the box down to 2 yards away from the by-line and unleashed a shot to his left. Their keeper was covering his near / left post but the shot flew over his right shoulder and into the right top corner of the goal. It was the unexpectedness of it and the daring that brought us instantly to our feet.

Terry McDonald's 89th-minute winner for Orient in the 1–0 win over Manchester United on 8 September 1962.
(Don't tell his son Tony, but I think it was meant to be a cross.)

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Favourite goal is Mooney equalising against Swindon straight from the kickoff.
Andy Scott away at Mansfield off the top of my head as the best though. Iyesden Christie scored a few crackers too.

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Phil Hoadley as mentioned by BigRon above.
Scored the same day as Ronnie Radford scored IMO the best goal ever - if u include his tackle that started the build-up - which got goal of the month on MOTD with Phil’s coming 2nd.
It’s the way Phil is turning round with his hands in the air before it has hit the back of the net.

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Was it The Evening Standard who, in the 70's, set a challenge for the hardest kicker of a ball across all London Teams - and Phil Hoadley won it?

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
Vincelot at Villa Park in the league cup, as I was sat in the ground next to a good friend who is an ardent Villa fan, great cele for that.
Remember Vincelot equaliser away to Sheffield Utd to make 3 all deep into injury time with ten men being special...

I think as team goals go this would be mine too, the touch from Clohessey and the stroked volley from Turgett were sublime. There are lots of contenders.

The state of this message board.
This is of course the correct answer. I can't believe it's taking this long for someone to get it right.

Re: BEST ORIENT GOAL YOU HAVE SEEN
One of my favourites was Ian Bowyer's against Hull City in 71 or 72. A fantastic scissor kick, he was one of my all time favourite players.
