Of the few coppers I know - some very well - you really wouldn’t choose them to be police officers, if you had a say in the matter.
The Few you know. So you’ve based your assumptions on the few you know. Says it all really.

I once knew a doctor who was, let’s say free with prescriptions. So let’s damn the whole profession.

I once knew a firefighter who moonlighted doing other stuff. Let’s brand the whole fire service.

I once came across a poster who was an idiot. Let’s brand all the posters as being idiots.

See. I’m catching on. Stupidity.

Looks ok to me. Plus pension benefits after a number of years service. What age do police get a full pension? Quite young I think.

Young and the pensions are sizeable. It’s one of the big perks of being in the police.

Starting salary in London is circa £30K with free travel on TFL services and a rail card that gets you anywhere up to 75 miles out of London for £70 p/m

Retire before you're 50 if you join young

So Tuffers got it wrong?

That's not so bad a package but still not I would call worthwhile for being on the frontline at the moment.

As a starting salary plus in London and other cities I believe further allowances are given. And with Ample opportunity to increase it. Compared to other professions I guess you need to look at entry qualification requirements.

But I agree, for London maybe not too generous on reflection.

Those figures are based on likelihood of death at work which is of value obviously

I'd imagine the Most dangerous by likelihood of being assaulted at work would be a separate list entirely (except for maybe refuse collector)

Is that meant to be an attempt at being funny or some sort of innuendo? Kiddy fiddling is not a topic I find very funny. Either way it is a tasteless comment. Shameful. Says lots about you as a person.
