30th June

Post by POSHO »

The 4 players that gave been offered new contracts will be out of their current one on the 30th. Do we, therefore, assume that the offers are taken off the table

No. They are left there. If they do not receive a better offer from elsewhere they may wish to take it up. The club may then then wish to review their offer.

It is all a game.

Surely, there is a time limit. The offers were made a long time ago

Not sure If i'd want to be out of work at this time there's going to be a plethora of players out of contract this summer.

Clubs (if they have any common sense) won't be offering any further contracts out until they know how next season is going to Start.

If i was running a club after the 30th June ,i'd say that the terms of the offer are being reviewed.

A number of clubs have already signed players, but of course we already have 20 professionals. I must admit I would bin the 4 if they haven't signed by the 30th

The most difficult one could be Jobi. After June 30th, we may want him as a coach but not a player

Yes, I can see that, plus he seems to gave a tv pundit option as well. We will soon know I expect

Not expecting Sotiriou or Ekpeteta to sign both going to end up in League One. I expect Ruel to sign for Peterborough next week he's a talented lad and we would at least get a fee. Marv is a decent player but he could end up going backwards if he doesn't get a move that sees him a regular starter in League One otherwise might as well stay at the Os.

Ogie I hope signs and gets game time at centre half even if it's mainly in the cup games to start with he is still raw but his time at Dover really helped him.

I think a Jobi will get another years playing contract with coaching duties thrown in ad per last season.

Should have space in the squad for a defensive midfielder (Cisse please) a centre half and striker hopefully we'll have the funds!

I used to live in Peterborough, now 25 miles away. Peterborough turned down 4 million for Toney, want at least double Should get that and Sotiriou would not be a replacement but could easily be an addition. Peterborough like to speculate on young lower league players and make money later. The rest is a reasonable assumption. I still think we will be lucky to see Jobi playing for us again and I think with money right it would be coach or nothing thus paying him less than was expected

If we don't get Cissé, an Ekpiteta replacement and a striker should Ruel go I see another relegation battle next season and hoping for our opponents to go bust to avoid the trapdoor.

We had 8 strikers at 1 point. With 4 going or potentially then leaves us with Dennis, Joihnson, Wilkinson and Angol. That should be enough to get us goals if on form and not injured for the bigger part of the season

There are going to be clubs a lot worse off than us when it comes to squad size and quality, it's in some people's DNA to be pessimistic. If money is tight to expand the squad I could see a couple of season long loanies coming in from Spurs.

You would think so but I would like to see a bit of pace in our attacking play, Ruel gave us that last season.

Ekpiteta still isn’t good enough for L1 IMO. But his agent may persuade someone otherwise

His distribution and touch needs a lot of work before he can be considered L1 class.

Why would he go when he's under contract?

He is going nowhere, much like his forward runs.

We still need a forward like Harrold - just younger. Then the others could then play off him. Wilkinson and Angol are not that player but could benefit from a signing like that.

Feels like a pop quiz let's see if we can work through the shot shy list...

Angol - doesn't like the phsycial battering, seems unhappy at Orient
Wilkinson - now identifies as a winger
Dennis - also a wide player really, mystery absentee
Johnson - Jan signing, seems a poacher but needs a partner
Sotiriou - bags of promise, must keep (but probably won't)
Harrold - farewell ginger Prince, Embleton didn't seem to be much of a fan though
Sterling - joke signing, must be some other reason behind the scenes Orient doing Spurs a favour with his rehabilitation or something?

Can't think of the 8th?

I know it’s easy to forget his job was you score goals but assume the 8th is Alabi

  yeah I think my mind disassociated him with striking duties a long time ago!

I think Jobi has other ideas in Sky Tv. That’s why we have taken Alex Lawless back on as coach.
