Ousseynou Cissé, still not signed on for a club for next season.
I just did a quick search on the internet to see if there is any news about Ousseynou Cissé. Well seems like he is still a free agent, so still hope that the Os might be in with a chance of getting him to sign for the coming season. I hope so, his presence certainly helped a lot when he played in the central midfield for us in the second half of last season.

His contract with Gillingham would end on 30th June, so while he will be free to talki with clubs and hopefully us, unlikely he would sign for anyone before July.

And you honestly can’t blame him to try and get the best deal for him and his family,
I think though that we must be in a good position as he knows the club, team mates and supporters etc having been here when we were just starting to put some results together too.

Re: Ousseynou Cissé, still not signed on for a club for next season.
I suspect Cisse's agent is hawking him around to other clubs, to see if he can get a "better" deal elsewhere
I suppose that is an agents job, but there must be a time limit, and I'd have thought its well past that now
Ling needs to know, so he can buy another languid centre mid (or two) if indeed he will be signing for someone else.

If thiers one position in the British game that you want to fill then finding a strong, commanding team player in midfield must be one of the easiest to find. So if we miss out on Cisse it will be very dissapointing but with hundreds being released there must be others there.
Try finding a talented ball playing winger/midfielder or 20 goal a season striker..."Now that will be hard"

I like Cisse but i would not worry if we did not sign him. There will be plenty of opportunities to pick up decent players in this window, just so long as we are on it.....

Time we showed our ‘ambition’ to Cisse.

Adams excluded, we haven’t had a player like that since what, Romain?

My concern is that he does know the club.

The fan base are hilarious on the cm issue you're either on one of the following sides:
1. Craig clay has been immense and player of the season
2. Cm is our weakest area bring in case/Adams et al

Personally I do beleive that he’s the missing link in that midfield. Loads in here hate Clay, I like him cos I can see the sh*t he does that enables others to express themselves better. Note how he improved considerably when Chase turned up. Case proved.

Clay has been surprisingly good this season by his low standards. But he’s not the strong, holding CM we’ve missed these past 4/5 seasons.

I would probably guess that in the second division when you make transfer signings only 1 in 6 or so go onto become very good signings who then progress to clubs at a higher level. You will find that most players at that level normally circulate between clubs and in a ten year career play div1, div2 then finally non league. Signing good quality class players is not easy and when you come accross them they normally sign for championship clubs.

I think Clay is a decent squad player. He was very good during the promotion season, but found it harder in L2. He Isn't a dominant CM in the style of Cisse though, which is why he is needed imo.

Lets just get another light-weight "ball playing" midfielder instead. Centre-mid has never been, and never will be an issue under Ling.

Cisse’s presence in our midfield proved to everyone, including Ling, that this type of player is exactly what we need. It even allowed Clay to become more effective. Whether it’s Cisse or A N Other, I am sure we will be looking to sign someone in this mold.
