Play-offs

Post by slacker »

Ooh, that Cheltenham loss is gonna hurt. Imagine being 2-0 up at “half time” in your most important match for years, and then your usually solid defence capitulates as the opposition turn it around...

And we still have Col U and their boring ikea ground with us next season, I see.

I've watched the 4 L2 play-off matches and I'm sure we weren't as bad as those 4 teams for most of the matches I saw us play. The play-off matches were not very good. Maybe there is hope for us next season.

Ross The Boss took an impressive 7 points from 12 from these semi finalists .

Yet there are still NUMPTIES on this board who believe he is a Clueless leader.

We have some fans with seriously strange thoughts on Football !!

I think the fact these teams were playing their first games in over 3 months may have something to do with it

Pointless post.

It doesn’t matter what he does against 1,2,3 or 4 teams it’s how he pans out over 46 games and so far I’d say he’s challenged to take us any higher than half way in this league.

Pathetic post reply ,
Idiots were calling for his head so much & abusing him he stepped back,
No chance for the poor fella to grieve his mate & ex boss who he wished
was still doing the job everyday , but couldnt because he was no longer here.

Pathetic fans calling him out instead of backing him & the club rather
than throwing there dummies out of the pram because they were a bit nervous.

In some respects your right and in others your wrong.

His team play was poor, his set up was poor, his instructions were poor, his substitution were poor. The fact i saw most games and you never would lead me to having more of an idea of what I saw than you,

Did he improve, yes but only towards the end of the season.

I hope he does well, I want him to be a success, cos I want our club to do well. Do I think he’s the right appointment, no I don’t. Will I support him, of course I will. Have I abused or shouted or booed him, absolutely not, will I ever, absolutely not.

I’m behind him and the coaching team and I hope he proves me wrong. It just seems a bit clique to me and many others on here.

I listened to the second leg on the radio last night. It was quite surreal; a great sounding game but with absolutely no stadium atmosphere.

Northampton appeared to absolutely dominate; Cheltenham appeared to fold under the continual pressure (even with quite a few odd decisions going their way). Maybe, they were just too complacent from the first leg at Sixfields? Two Nil up from the Away leg and I think they were in the we'll just coast it mindset. How very dangerous. Even at 3-0 up, Northampton were continually attacking and could have had a fourth.

Selfishly, I hope that Exeter win at Wembley - as both Cheltenham and Northampton are easy away grounds, from where I'm based.

Will this be a case of Northampton Town having peaked last night in the Semi? We know that particular feeling only too well.

Felt sorry for the Cobblers supporters last night who could not attend - that result, particularly with such an uphill struggle away from home, would have been one to savour.

though home advantage counts for a lot less when there's no crowd in, which might go some way to explaining the two results
