Re: Father's Day
About to go on a long cliff walk with the kids who have surprised me with tickets for Paul Heaton and Jacqui Abbot in November (hopefully) and the book Broken Greek by Pete Phaphides.
I am the best dad ever of course.

TLOU2 received this morning. Will visit my own Dad this afternoon. Have instructed missus to cook roast in a big Yorkshire.

Re: Father's Day
Whilst Father's Day in Europe can be traced back to the Middle Ages, the UK appears to have adopted this utterly ridiculous, materialistic statement from 'our Cousins across the pond'.
Not being a sheep (and supporting yet another American utterly fake clusterfcuk of commercialism and nonsense), I have never celebrated it.
My Father didn't agree with this idiotic day either; nor (thankfully) does my Son.
I don't need a pointless gift; nor receive a card telling me that I'm 'the best Dad in the World', or some other inane drivel. On his day off, my Son left the house around 8am this Morning to help deliver food parcels from our Church. That says enough to me that I'm respected as a Father; by the manner in which I have helped to raise him; and the fact he can think for himself, to help others less fortunate.

Yep.
Being one of the sheep and 'celebrating' such a pointless occasion, most certainly is.
