Listening to Noongar Radio (an Aboriginal show) today from Broome WA, they were stating how well their Coronavirus App. had been working, during the Pandemic.

It was also pleasing to note that apparently, there has not been a single positive test for Coronavirus over the past two weeks across the entire Western Australia Territory.

The thoughts that immediately sprang to mind:

- What has happened to the App. in the UK? When is it due to be introduced - if ever?
- Is there any feedback on the App. being trialled on the Isle of Wight?
- What are our daily number of Coronavirus Tests being undertaken?

As the Missis has a few days of well-earned break, I admit to not bothering with much news; or indeed undertaking a detailed Google search. However, a quick catch-up scan through the media over the past few days doesn't appear to present any clues. Yes there are various snippets; but nothing official from the Etonian Spaffer and his Circus of ?

Has this incompetent Tory Govt. actually stopped reporting the aforementioned information?

In regards to the kids not going back to school until September

Personally think that this is the government kicking the ball down the road as the situation isn't going to be resolved by then and you can't keep children out of school forever. There's gonna be a generation of kids whose education if fecked.

I wonder if the authorities can't simply have all school years repeat - so if a kid started year 3 last September, then they just start year 3 again this September. That way, they'd be getting more of the learning, rather than less. Obviously that's going to have repercussions for resources, but that'd need to be funded.

Also, as my 90 year old dad likes to point out - he and his generation were evacuated for 3 or 4 years at crucial time in their education - with all the entailed disruption to their schooling, but it didn't end up with that generation being educationally f*cked.

I’ve thought about just simply repeating the school year. A sensible approach but has its issues at the younger end as in order to avoid massive class sizes in reception, year 1 some kids may need to start school later. But an idea worth considering. And funding.

As people relax their vigilance, in line with the Govt’s muddled messages and easing of restrictions, and we see more gatherings - whether that’s demos, quarantine raves madness, more mundane mingling in shops, work and commutes, or just family & friends getting together for a gathering - the virus will keep spreading.

Doubt we’ll see a big second wave spike over the summer as a lot of this can be done outdoors, but come the autumn when we’re cooped back inside and “staying alert” slips to the back of many folks minds....

It was said back in March that it was felt that the virus was not so strong in hot conditions.

Maybe the weather in May has been a factor in reducing the spread and it will return as we go in to Autumn.

One of the theories as to why it's not so prevalent in the summer is because people spend more time outside and as we know the virus doesn't last so long outdoors.

Results coming back from the first batch of antibidy tests for staff in care homes, results so far (on vary small samples) are between 40 and 70%. Few people I know in the NHS saying similar figures there.
