It was also pleasing to note that apparently, there has not been a single positive test for Coronavirus over the past two weeks across the entire Western Australia Territory.
The thoughts that immediately sprang to mind:
- What has happened to the App. in the UK? When is it due to be introduced - if ever?
- Is there any feedback on the App. being trialled on the Isle of Wight?
- What are our daily number of Coronavirus Tests being undertaken?
As the Missis has a few days of well-earned break, I admit to not bothering with much news; or indeed undertaking a detailed Google search. However, a quick catch-up scan through the media over the past few days doesn't appear to present any clues. Yes there are various snippets; but nothing official from the Etonian Spaffer and his Circus of ?
Has this incompetent Tory Govt. actually stopped reporting the aforementioned information?

BMA demands answers over missing BAME pages of Covid-19 report
The British Medical Association has demanded an explanation from the government following reports that pages containing recommendations to protect black, Asian and minority ethnic (BAME) communities were removed from last week’s Covid-19 disparity report.

Dear oh dear.
More lies and deceit then from Mr. 'Shouty' Hancock?

I’ve thought about just simply repeating the school year. A sensible approach but has its issues at the younger end as in order to avoid massive class sizes in reception, year 1 some kids may need to start school later. But an idea worth considering. And funding.StillSpike wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 10:32 amI wonder if the authorities can't simply have all school years repeat - so if a kid started year 3 last September, then they just start year 3 again this September. That way, they'd be getting more of the learning, rather than less. Obviously that's going to have repercussions for resources, but that'd need to be funded.JimbO wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 9:29 am In regards to the kids not going back to school until September
Personally think that this is the government kicking the ball down the road as the situation isn't going to be resolved by then and you can't keep children out of school forever. There's gonna be a generation of kids whose education if fecked.
Also, as my 90 year old dad likes to point out - he and his generation were evacuated for 3 or 4 years at crucial time in their education - with all the entailed disruption to their schooling, but it didn't end up with that generation being educationally f*cked.

I’ve heard one of the Black Lives Matters protesters in Australia has caught the COVID-19 virus from the crown. I’m wondering how long will it be before we have another spike again thanks to our shoulder to shoulder protesters

Anyone know if your prospects for surviving the virus since the outbreak started has got any better? They were transfusing people with antibodies from recovered victims. Not a whiff of if or not it has been successful.

Re: Coronavirus
PW that would be great but i think this virus will be around for a while, with peaks and troths. I just want everything to return to as near to normality as possible that involves work, sport, socialising and family and friends being together.

Re: Coronavirus
As people relax their vigilance, in line with the Govt’s muddled messages and easing of restrictions, and we see more gatherings - whether that’s demos, quarantine raves madness, more mundane mingling in shops, work and commutes, or just family & friends getting together for a gathering - the virus will keep spreading.
Doubt we’ll see a big second wave spike over the summer as a lot of this can be done outdoors, but come the autumn when we’re cooped back inside and “staying alert” slips to the back of many folks minds....

One scientist let slip a couple of days ago, that the virus is believed to be more active in cold conditions. He said that is why they probably had problems in US abattoirs.

It was said back in March that it was felt that the virus was not so strong in hot conditions.West Side Story wrote: ↑Mon Jun 15, 2020 9:57 am One scientist let slip a couple of days ago, that the virus is believed to be more active in cold conditions. Maybe the weather in May has been a factor in reducing the spread and it will return as we go in to Autumn.

I am always scouring the media for hard scientific facts. Sadly it is filled up with Business people ( and I am not talking about the ones at the sharp end ), pressurising to ease any lockdown and to lessen social distancing.

Re: Coronavirus
Results coming back from the first batch of antibidy tests for staff in care homes, results so far (on vary small samples) are between 40 and 70%. Few people I know in the NHS saying similar figures there.
