What are you missing most about match days?
For me, its;
sh*t pints of Estrella in the Coach and Horses whilst the Stone Island crew look moody or a meal and 4 pints of Super Bock in Oceano.
Getting a programme from the bloke by the big gates at the West/South corner (always feeling proud of myself for having the right change).
sh*t pre-match pint under the South Stand every now and again.
The scramble to get served in the same bar at half time with the same barmaids running around.
Bus to Walthamstow to carry on drinking all night then chicken donner meat and chips on my way home.

Having a few beers in the Supporters club before the game and attempting to win the raffle!

What’s that programme sellers name? Remember him 25 years ago when I was 8 and always wore shorts come rain or shine then as well.
I miss having a moan with the guy in front...
The ritual of standing by the dugout as the players come out.
But not a lot else unfortunately. Few mates stopped going for various reasons so I’m usually on my own now. Used to get so excited about literally every game. I’d savour every moment but it’s just gone missing in recent years. Maybe this enforced break brings it back, hopefully.

The hope and optimism throughout the morning which builds to a peak just before the referees whistle before dropping like a stone as the ball crosses our goal line.

I think the programme seller who wore shorts stopped selling a couple of seasons ago , the guy mentioned has been doing it a few years and always has his earphones in listening to the lunchtime gameApple Wumble wrote: ↑Fri Jun 12, 2020 10:41 pm What’s that programme sellers name? Re: What are you missing most about match days?
As it’s almost exactly 100 miles from Dereham to Leyton, I only get down a handful of times per season, so I’m used to mainly not being there on match days.
But it would certainly be good to be back next season (whenever that may be), and is the norm for me of either meeting up with a good mate from Birmingham, and we’ll put the world straight over a burger and Costa pre/ post match; or I’ll drive down with a Norwich based mate who has adopted the O’s, start with Burger King, get in a good walk which may take us to Leytonstone, Stratford, Clapton or Walthamstow directions, and enjoy a couple of pubs pre-match – we’ve done many and try to pick off new ones too - let’s hope all those pubs will still be open come the next visit!

The Royal Café
Buzz of a goal going in, rare as those are at home this season
