An area crying out for a task force to implement the same approach as Glasgow's violence reduction unit.

The rougher areas stuck together more back then as communities. You could leave your door open and people would pop in and out of each other's houses. Much like how they portray it on Eastenders today
I don't recall many bars on windows when I was kid in Hackney in the 70's.
Maybe it was because people had sod all so there was nothing to nick off of each other.
Or maybe people just had more respect for each other.
