Arthur Janata - southern league
Dale Gorman - national league south/north
James Alabi - national league south/north
Matt Harrold - national league

We don’t have the players to challenge for a top three place.EliotNes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 12:10 pm Sorry that we couldn't sign Cisse permanently. Apart from that, it's a pretty predictable list.
IMO we have the players to challenge for a top 3 place, if they all perform as they are capable of doing. Its the man (manager) management I have a concern about, will RE be able to get the best out of this bunch?

Re: Retained list
Hope I am wrong but all looks very mediocre to me. Bright sparks at the last part of games we played last season were the performances of Cisse and Ruel and for the moment, looks like Cisse will not be with us and Ruel out of contract and in negotiation with the Os but also open to offers from other clubs.Beradogs wrote: ↑Thu Jun 04, 2020 6:31 amWe don’t have the players to challenge for a top three place.EliotNes wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 12:10 pm Sorry that we couldn't sign Cisse permanently. Re: Retained list
Agreed with others - the squad overall looks really weak, as it stands now.
It's nowhere near as strong as the one that finished as Champions in the national league.
The only real highlights from last season were Vigaroux, Cisse and Ruel - it's imperative that we get Ruel to sign, and do everything we can to get Cisse in. I'd imagine money won't be an issue for either, it's just if they fancy the current set up or not.

He did and was getting a consistent run of games only for this Pandemic to strike. It all depends on were clubs are at financially coming out of this period.aylesburyos wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 1:23 pm Dale Gorman did well for Newport. Hope he ends up there

Brophy was the standout player imho - especially given the way he was mucked about in terms of position.HeyO wrote: ↑Tue Jun 09, 2020 9:18 amFair analysis here.RedO wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:00 pm Agreed with others - the squad overall looks really weak, as it stands now.

Re: Retained list
Shame. Under normal circumstances I’m sure he would be offered a deal but is victim to the lack of money around in lower league football. For those lucky enough to get deals, the money will drop. For the rest it’s the dole queue.Bergen wrote: ↑Tue Jun 23, 2020 11:52 amGorman has not been offered a deal by Newport County.DonaldRocks wrote: ↑Fri Jun 05, 2020 2:07 pmHe did and was getting a consistent run of games only for this Pandemic to strike. Who can criticise players for taking what they can when opportunity comes along.

Re: Retained list
As of the youths, all of Rhys Byrne, Will Sanders, Bradley McLeneghan, Jeremie Sivi, Jordan Adeyemi and Lawrence Hammond are out of contract. Hammond has confirmed that he's been let go but there's no confirmations on the status of the others. If I was to guess I'd say that goalkeeper Byrne and midfielder McLeneghan will be kept on and the rest let go.
