The sheer hypocrisy on here is staggering. Jean Charles da Silva e de Menezes an innocent unarmed Brazilian was blasted apart by UK police using hollow bullets. He was by no means white. Dusky would be the best description ( this was one of the reasons he was shot ). Unfortunately he didn't fit the right racial stereo type for mass protests. Most protesters at his death were Brazilian.
A good few of the Blacks killed in similar circumstances have been gangsters. The protesters make life a little more comfortable for the drug dealers for a while, so the police back off. PC Keith Blakelock was hacked to death whilst on duty. No whites rioted.
People protest, when it suits them. But remember, a lot of UK police don't have guns. They can be violent to Blacks. Racism can be everywhere from one ethnic group to another. The UK police have a great record compared to USA, France and almost everywhere else. I cannot see why there is hysteria towards the police in the UK right now in lockdown. It is potty.

Tottenham was full of white people rioting with black people , not against them.

There's no hysteria from me towards our Police.

The vast majority of coppers do a very good job; in ever-increasing, difficult circumstances.

However, there is clearly an element who believe themselves to be outside of the law. So irrespective of whether you are Left- wing, Right- wing or even completely down the middle, this cannot be condoned.

The time statues come down is just as important as when they go up. It normally signals a change in morals or understanding, new information or to support cause.

Saying Churchill was a racist isn't anything extraordinary. Saying Edward Colston's all round legacy doesn't deserve permanent memory isn't unfair. It's not Auschwitz. A bigger lesson is learned in taking it down than keeping it up.
