Apparently Peterborough are tracking Ruel he has not yet signed the contact offered to him by Orient and Borough look set to lose Ivan Toney for large money they see Ruel as an ideal replacement, they have offered £125, 000 apparently.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
It does seem a lot of money for a lad who's free to leave for a tiny bit of compo but Posh might think there'll be lots of competition for his signature so want to get in and get a deal agreed with us before anyone has the chance. If we know compensation is <£80k then we might just rip Posh's hand off.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
Really frustrating when young talent who could be the life blood of the club and are the proverbial "One of our own" leave the club for a pittance. I know times are changing but those young players on the negotiating contracts list should have been sorted out before the end of 2019.
Think the other youngster Jobie will sign a new contract as well (fingers crossed).

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
I think we could see young talented players leaving us on a regular basis so i hope we are going to become a club thats clued up and get top dollar transfer fees with big sell on clauses in other cases. Something we never have been!

The 2nd young talent to come through the club and leave for peanuts under Martin Ling. He's great at his job.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
Agreed
A handful of Professional starts & a Handful of goals .
If hes not ready to sign for us , it cant just be about money.
It has to be ahout playing at a higher level.
Cue Ger#ge P*rter & Burnley or Sam dalby at Leeds.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
While I Hope Ruel stays, £125k isn’t bad money for a lad with little experience as Tuffers says.
He needs a full L2 season with us before trying his luck at a top 6 L1 club, just my opinion of course, but hopefully he can persuaded to stay another year.
I wonder what type of Agent he has and whether he will try and engineer him a move, whether it’s good for the player or not.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
I hope he Stays, but a pay rise from a club with a bigger budget & a higher FFP structure ,is enough to tempt any young kid. Its a wage & there wont be to many in our youth system who would be Leyton Orient fans ,Cheshunto wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 7:45 pmWhile I Hope Ruel stays, £125k isn’t bad money for a lad with little experience as Tuffers says.

so loyalty is unlikely to be involved.

Exactly that.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 7:25 pm Should have been signed up (and played more) last season
Didn’t get a look in all season, only when that fella from Bournemouth came in he was loaned out to get him ready.
Badly mismanaged by Embleton, so don’t blame him if he clears off. But I’ll be gutted.

If we lose him, we will have lost the best young striker we've ever brought through. If he stays, and is played, he will score 30 goals next season, and will be worth at least 800,000k.
Ling is hopeless, on every level IMO

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
Whether there's any truth in Ruel going to Peterborough or not...
The real worry is that with Ruel and Johnson up front we have a
chance with goals.
Alas I feel with Wilko and Angol upfront I believe we maybe
have a pairing that maybe will struggle to hit double figures between
them..

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
Of course he should have played more last season! Big question marks for Ling / Embleton.
Best we can hope for is another Bonne type deal - where Sotirou signs for 1 season - with a exit clause at £200K or thereabouts. I think he needs a full season as a first choice striker in L2. he could then jump to the Championship. Moving too soon to Posh could leave him on the bench and not progressing...

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
Really? That's a strong series of statements for a lad who's only played a few games. Ruel should show Ling your post and he'd be asking for the moon in wages!ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 8:58 pm100% correct.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Wed Jun 03, 2020 7:25 pm Should have been signed up (and played more) last season

I want to keep him, but I can't see how we would have known a season ago that he was going to blossom. Nobody was raving about him - even in October/November. He appears to be good but needs a run. TBH here is probably the best place for him next season but it will be the players decision alone. Right now all Ling can do is stress the benefits of playing 30+ games next season, because he won't be getting that number in L1 next season.

Re: Ruel Sotiriou on Peterborough's Radar
We dont know whats been offered though do we?
We have been trying to tie him down on a longer improved contract since Christmas same as big Marv, but sometimes agents can smell a nice little earner if thier client moves on and to be fair who is going to turn down the chance of more money and playing in a higher division. It's getting harder and harder for clubs at our level to retain their younger talent, what we regard as a good contract is a drop in the ocean to other higher division clubs. TBF a move to Peterborough would be a good one for Ruel he would get a real chance there. If we got £125k and a sell on might be worth taking.
