143 new Coronavirus related deaths recorded in England in the past 24 hour reporting period.
It's 324 deaths since yesterday in UK. Governments own figures
Yeah, just seen this in the conference and thought the same. The figure of 143 came from BBC live text earlier in the afternoon. Guessing that the 143 figure must just be from hospitals and the 324 is whole community
Daughter at school today. “And what did you do over the weekend? “. Reception year kid. “We went to the beach”
So if it kicks off in schools then no need to wonder why. daughter now isolating herself from hubby and her kids in case she Catches it and passes it on. At least the school Staff are taking precautions but impossible to fully distance from Reception year kids.
Fecking stupid selfish arseholes getting a day at the beach in before packing the kid off to school. Makes my blood boil. Spike hear it comes.

What's the problem with going to the beach if you socially distance and stick with your own household? All the evidence suggests that this would pose minimal risk of picking up or transmitting the virus.
My son is in year 6 and he has 7 people in his class and 2 teachers, the other class has 7 and 2 teachers, 16 kids failed to return back to school.
I spoke with him yesterday and today and he said that the teachers are being really strict with the distancing, and for example he said today in PE if he was 1.9m away he got told to move back. At play they have to keep that distance as well and it’s being closely watched at all times. No school meals, packed lunch only however, from today the school will provide a packed lunch if required in place of the school meal. No uniform, and the clothes must be changed and be clean each day. There are so many new rules in place.

And for some reason these boffins keep telling us that the charts, figures etc. are going down. To me, three hundred deaths
plus each for the last two days, something's wrong somewhere.

The scientific advisor at today's conference also said that the deaths aren't going down as quickly as they'd expected

They are going down, it's about 100 deaths occuring a day, it's just that sometimes 300 get reported a day, the day a death is reported is not the day it occurred but these are the figures we get in the media.

Why can’t they count daily? Seems a simple task which other countries appear to manage perfectly, given the linear approach of their figures.

Multiple reasons, one for example being they won't record a death until next of kin has been told and that can take a while or deaths in the community experience a lag in reporting

IF you social distance. IF you don’t get close to people at some point IF etc, minimal risk. We all know it’s small but could be smaller. Numbers not going down low enough yet. Wonder why. It’s not a necessary journey. Why even take a small risk if you don’t have too. It’s plain stupid and selfish.

That doesn’t account for ‘zero’ deaths for two days (cue idiots saying ‘It’s over’) then suddenly 500.

You realise that lockdown is over? None of what you're saying makes any sense.
What an indictment on our government. Seeing as they can’t even count death numbers with any system, is it any surprise that they have mismanaged the greatest health crisis since 1918?

When did that happen?
I stopped paying attention to the daily figure about a fortnight ago
