Re: Froome Out of tour
Imagine taking both hands off your bike to blow your nose . Or is that down to his "ASTHMA" again ?

Hitting something in a car at just over 30mph and you’re getting hurt, imagine it’s just you a bike and a wall. Doesn’t sound good right now.

Supposedly in Intensive care .
Hope he gets through this ok
But having seen the news clip of him minutes before not heeding a warning about unnecessary risk by taking his hands off the handlebars while putting his jacket on whilst on flat road , it does make you question his judgement why he would do so again on a downhill section of the ride.
Hope he gets through this ok

Re: Froome Out of tour
Habit, if people get away with doing the same things again and again, they begin to think they are ''Immortal'' and immune from from anything bad ever happening to them !! Well this time, Froome did not get away with '' taking his hands off the handlebars while putting his jacket on whilst on flat road'' and suffered massive injuries for making this mistake. I think it will be a lot harder to get back to his pre-injury level than he seems to be thinking at the moment. The body, especially back and joint injuries, do not heal as easily as some people seem to think. When you are fit and young you seem to think you are an ''immortal'' When a bad injury actually does happen, it can be a big life changer !!tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Thu Jun 13, 2019 6:02 pm Supposedly in Intensive care .

But when its blowing a gale ?
Smacks of irresponsibility by him.
The money his team pay him & pump into the team to support him has all been literally half wasted.
Now its all on GT's shoulders.
Still it should make for a fairer tour now the biggest budget will be down to 1 race winner & not 2 are taking part.

Re: Froome Out of tour
Of course it was silly and irresponsible of him to do that, but that is what happens when the ego gets too big and leads to too much overconfidence.tuffers#1 wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 2:40 pmAll well & good on Fine days Sid .Sid Bishop wrote: ↑Fri Jun 14, 2019 1:02 pmHabit, if people get away with doing the same things again and again, they begin to think they are ''Immortal'' and immune from from anything bad ever happening to them !! Oh well he has a long and painful time ahead of him, time in which he will no doubt reflect on the very basic mistake he made.

Fractured bones in his neck and lost 4 pints of blood, it must have been some crash.
