What bit do you class as the start of the lockdown? What part of the initial lockdown did you struggle with?
And then they tried protecting big business and insurance companies by providing unclear and woolly guidance on places like pubs. Every step has been unclear. How anyone can argue that it hasn’t is beyond me.
I get that it’s not hard to stay indoors but most people are thick and to be honest, in what the government deem as the worst thing since ww2, I don’t think clarity is asking too much from our ‘leaders’

Thanks for taking the time to reply but you failed to answer the question
People had confusion over if they could drive for their exercise - police were sending drones up and shaming people
What essentials meant - some senior copper threatened to check everyone’s baskets and I think I remember some place refusing to let people buy Easter eggs.
In fact, I have a vague memory that the government even had to update their guidance because people weren’t clear on what they could and couldn’t do.
Re: Dominic Cummings
Sounds like the only people confused were the police and you and your vague memory.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 8:35 pmWithout wasting all of my evening, just a few:Digby Chicken Caesar wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 8:28 pmThe bit where the Prime minister outlined the rules then it was put into legislationApple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 8:25 pm

Yep, their rules follow existing behaviour rather than lead it.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Thu May 28, 2020 7:57 pm The non-committal of the government over all of this. And not just after cummings, from the very start, means that we've had to guess at what the rules are and interpret them as we see fit.
No ones expecting this government to be clear and consistent about anything.

Now, I know most of us have embarrassing family members: yer racist nan and dodgy uncle, etc. But I’ve been reading about Cummings father in law. A rich, batty toff with some nasty social darwinism ideas not unlike Dom’s “herd immunity” eugenics thoughts, that reminds me of Roderick Spode from PG Wodehouse. Like this one, that could have been written by the Daily Mash I think it helps put Cummings “ man of the people” act into perspective. He’s as privileged as Spaffer Johnson himself. But keep doffing yer caps...There’s more, but this is the funniest/weirdest.

Over a million people have signed the petition for Dominic Cummings to sacked, this is a clear indication that Boris cannot move on until Cummings is sacked, one million people can’t be wrong.

I wasn’t aware this was a thing.
A lot of things - such as how certain boarders board - makes a lot more sense knowing about this.

Not too many sources of news to rely on for those of us non-right wingers, sadly.
