Sky News sent a reporter to the Cummings parental home in Durham - utterly disgraceful.

The rules about social distancing and travel also do not seem to apply to the press.

Oh Dom
Falsely claim you wrote about Corona in 2019 ,
But edit suggests between April 8th & April 14th 2020.

A 2019 Dominic Cummings blog post was recently edited to explicitly mention a coronavirus

26th May 2020

Claim

A 2019 blogpost authored by Dominic Cummings was recently edited to include a warning about coronavirus.

Conclusion

Correct. The edit appears to have been made on 14 April 2020.

A tweet claiming to show that Dominic Cummings’s blog was edited to make it look like he warned people about coronavirus in 2019 has been shared thousands of times.

Mr Cummings said during his press interview on Monday 25 May: “For years I’ve warned of the dangers of pandemics. Last year I wrote about the possible threat of coronaviruses and the urgent need for planning.”

According to Internet Archive’s Wayback Machine, sometime between 8 April 2020 and 15 April 2020, Mr Cummings’ 2019 blog on pandemics was updated to include a paragraph on SARS (which, along with Covid-19, is also caused by a coronavirus). The added paragraph says:

“Among other things, the GAO report called attention to a well-publicized incident in which a Defense Department laboratory “inadvertently sent live Bacillus anthracis , the bacterium that causes anthrax, to almost 200 laboratories worldwide over the course of 12 years. The laboratory believed that the samples had been inactivated.” The report describes yet another well-publicized incident in China in which “two researchers conducting virus research were exposed to severe acute respiratory syndrome (SARS) coronavirus samples that were incompletely inactivated. The researchers subsequently transmitted SARS to others, leading to several infections and one death in 2004.

The GAO identified three recent releases of Ebola and Marburg viruses from BSL4 to lower containment labs due to incomplete inactivation.”

This is also confirmed by the website’s sitemap information. This shows that this particular blog post appears to have been edited on 14 April  2020.

Prior to this, his blog made no mention of coronaviruses. According to BBC economics editor Faisal Islam, an unnamed Number 10 source confirmed the post had been edited, but that the original post did include a link to an article which discussed coronaviruses and from which the added quote was taken. The older version of the blog post also contained quotes from this article.

This is correct.

I thought it was quite weak by Peston unusually.
Maybe the follow up Question wasnt allowed to be answered in his defence.
Peston is an idiot and got what he deserved from Hancock today. He might be ok on his own ITV programme but he and most of the MSM on the daily briefing ask the same questions over and over again. The only journalists who ask sensible questions are those from regional newspapers who usually ask something of interest to their local region and readers.

The rules about social distancing have been updated for those in the workplace by Boris and Dom.

The press can work without being 2 metres apart.

F#ck this could be an interesting twist .

I think we're straying into Thory territory with this particular one. While I agree with Craig Murray that both GSK and DC are bad actors (quite literally in DC's case, as we all saw yesterday), I can't believe this one. Why on Earth would DC make that trip in person when any conspiracy / backroom deal could quite easily be stitched up over WhatsApp, without the attendant risk of being seen by someone at the GSK site? Not every outsourced security guard, or disgruntled production worker, or passerby would be in on the deal and the chances of him getting in and out unseen are pretty slim - so why take the risk, rather than making a phone call?

He's obviously lying about the reason for the trip to Barnard Castle on his wife's birthday, but I don't believe it was for anything more sinister than a birthday treat for the wife. (which is bad enough, to be honest, without the need for embellishment)
He doesn't have to have met on GSK premises and the lie about going there is bizarre.

He may as well have admitted he went there for his wife's birthday because one way or another both were illegal.

Initially they tried to claim the sighting at BC was false but when the witness proved to be credible they came up with this eye test nonsense. Probably to get everyone talking about that and nothing else.

There's more to the BC trip than meets the eye. They're hiding something.
Another story going around is that Cummings sister Alice who lives in Durham is a Director of IDOX the company who have been given the contract to produce the covid19 app. Can anybody confirm this to be the case

Even if Cummings did break the rules, who actually cares? Any excuse to have a go at the government when they are all trying their best to get us out of this hole. Going to bet that you would all do exactly the same thing in his shoes. Left-wingers scared of him winning another election trying to force him out is so pathetic  Easily the most transparent faux-outrage I've seen in a long time.

Experts disagree. A scientist I saw on the news said that driving is one of the most effective ways to check your vision is working well, so that part of his story does check out at least. Going to the castle seems like it was a mistake simply because so many people have now jumped on it. Loads of us have broken rules during this, it's hypocritical to claim otherwise. Even if you've been sticking to the rules personally, the guy is a senior government adviser and obviously privileges come with that role.

What utter nonsense he's bending the rules to fit his agenda so much I'm quite surprised they haven't snapped.

The testing his eye sight cover is utter poo poo, sure i read somewhere it just happened to be on his other half's birthday.

I'm sure that if Five Million of us broke the rules at the time the whole situation would've been a lot worse and there would be uproar.

If i had a fixed penalty notice for doing the same as cummins I'd be dragging it through the courts.

So you believe that and it's nothing to do with the fact that it was his missus birthday and they just fancied a day out.

think they are very lucky there's not a general election in the short to mid term cos Boris seems to be doing his best to slash the biggest majority the tories have in a while.

He certainly won't be getting my vote next time.

You are either a pretty poor WUM; or sadly, a very gullible individual.

(Quote): the guy is a senior government adviser and obviously privileges come with that role.

Do they? :~

Care to show us the evidence of where these 'obvious privileges' are documented anywhere?

Or, like Cummings and Johnson, do you just 'make things up' to fit your agenda?

The way that I and most others see it, Cummings SHOULD be sacked. In fact any decent person would resign. However, Cummings is clearly anything but a decent person. He is pond life.

Moreover, there is every chance that the little weirdo is still in his job, because Johnson simply hasn't got the balls to sack him.

One can only wonder why?

Spot on, wonder how the mugs who switched to Tory in the last election are feeling after being fooled into voting for them.
The more Boris continues in digging a hole for himself and the Tories the better the chance of them being outed at the next election.
