Who remembers football?

Post by Fanny »

It was a fun game that people who were good at it used to play and those who weren’t good enough at it paid to watch those that were play it.

It was great. I miss it.

Way more fun and far less toxic than the new national pastime of bickering about dipsh*t politicians and their unelected aides breaking their own rules.

I remember the golden days of having rows about Ross Embleton being suitable enough to manage a forth division football team. Such simple days.

Also those who were somewhat good at it paid to watch it when their knees and ankles gave up on them. Normally in their 40s...

I'm watching Maradona in Mexico on Netflix. He can hardly walk. I'm not sure if I like the show or not to be honest. The commentators are so monotone. Hard to believe Pep Guardiola played at that Mexican club too in the twilight of his career, the home of the biggest Drug Cartel in Mexico, El Chapo.

I've been getting my kicks from 24 year old football (Euro 96) and still oooh'ing and ahhh'ing at a close shot or a bad tackle, even though i know most of the results!

Bayern v Dortmund is on tonight. Top 2, might decide the title if Bayern win. 5.30 KO.

anybody got so desperate they've watched Belarus football (free on youtube, I believe) during all this? can't say I'm bothered about watching football on the telly, but I do miss not going to a stadium and watching live (anywhere).
