Entrepreneurial Void

Post by Clive Evans »

I was expecting people to come up with innovative ideas to exploit the Covid 19 crisis and use it as an opportunity. Haven't seen much evidence of this except from the spivs. My spies tell me that doggie prices have zoomed, as a dog is an accessory " must " when you go for your exercise. People have been scammed and hand gel prices have escalated. But dear Oh dear, where are the entrepreneurs?
M&S have teamed up with Ocado to deliver food, but their launch is not due, until September ( they may have missed the boat by then ). Have seen very little evidence of them pushing their mail order stuff. Primark too, have come up with nothing and are stuck with shops full of out of season stock. Wilko were good initially, but now have very limited stock on their mail order. eBay have come up trumps, have even managed to get mail order aquatic plants and 20 sticklebacks ( at a price ). With so many unemployed I am surprised Tesco and Sainsburys are struggling to give delivery slots. Morrisons are myuch improved in that department. What have you found?

Have been thinking about buying weights and racks for the garage (mainly cos i like working out but hate the people who go to the gym!). There was some basic packages on amazon for a couple of hundred quid at the start of march...cant get them now and a basic bench can set you back £300! The price of home exercise stuff has exploded.

Oh and Thor trying to buy PPE to make a profit on people dying.

I bought a bench for £100 on Amazon, they're still available for £110

Entrepreneurial but still good value

Tbh you can exercise very effectively with little equipment, assuming you don’t want to look like Annie. An exercise ball is very versatile as are bands. Free weights, with bar and locks, hand held rather than 6ft bar. Floor mat too. And yours away. Maybe frequency of reps as opposed to heavy weights. Good luck. I have a York bench, sitting in my garage rarely used. Exercise daily without it. One with foot grips, bad for your back!

But I’m 71 so my exercise regime is perhaps somewhat less demanding these days.

Why are you banging on about M& S having " missed the boat " for ?

Do you not understand Ocados exclusive contract with Waitrose does not expire untill then &
therfore would be Breaching terms if they & Marks teamed up before .

I've purchased a Leyton Orient Season Ticket for 2020/21. Valid in 2021/22 if at all. They are much more expensive now though.
