Media virus
For the past 3 or 4 weeks the media have been pressurising and demanding on a daily basis through the press, radio, daily covid updates and news articles on why the government has not issued statements on when we will/should be coming out of Lockdown.
When the government then makes there intentions known that some easing may take place the same media then attack the government for easing on Lockdown. They constantly ask questions with the sole aim of tripping up ministers, scientists and health officials along the way or at a later date. They just have no boundaries to there practices. The media in general are a negativety on our society.
This is not a support for the Blue side because if Starmer or Corbyn were in power, it would be just the same for the Red side of politics.

Re: Media virus
The media have vested interests and are run by a few rich people are use it as a vehicle to get their own way.
Saying that, I actually think the media have done a great job of holding this inept government to account in the last few months. They’ve reported on things in the public interest and uncovered corrupt decisions and bad practices and made them public - exactly what they are for.
Can’t remember the last time pretty much all the major players agreed...

Re: Media virus
Oh leave it out. I am on the right and even I can see that the Tory government have been a complete and utter disaster throughout all this. We are surrounded by water, had advance warning, and still have the highest death rate in Europe. The thing is, they are not in any way shape or form right wing now and that is part of the problem. They didn’t have the balls to close our borders. I am looking forward to higher tax rates next from the “conservatives” coming to a paycheck near you shortly.

No questions were answered in the
We shall open then , because no date was known .
They are now asking do you know a date ?
Nothing wrong with asking questions .
It gives us knowledge .
Rather than some bullsh*t guesswork
Like maybe injesting some kind of cleaning fluid.

Let’s hope it’s an end to the left wing hating media stuff. The media just love every opportunity to sh*t stir. Corbyn was a media gift. Now Boris dealing with the Virus is the same. Soon Starmer will cop for it.

Spot on. Surely the time to hold an inept government to account is during a crisis rather than once it is all over.RedO wrote: ↑Mon May 11, 2020 5:49 amThe media haven’t done anywhere near enough to hold boris and co to account.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sun May 10, 2020 6:09 pm The media have vested interests and are run by a few rich people are use it as a vehicle to get their own way.

Re: Media virus
With the “Red Menace” of Corbyn seen off, and the election recently won for their preferred choice, even the Tory papers can pretend to be journalists for a bit and have a pop at the Govt right now. The BBC news team seem as obsequious as usual when it comes to holding the establishment to account, but then they’ve got something to lose (licence funding) if they ruffle feathers.

Re: Media virus
Without doubt the press are way over playing this virus. Just like they talk down the economy or housing or whatever to suit their agenda, everyone gets worried and scared and on it goes.
The fact is if you are healthy then the regular flu is far worse this this virus. However, if you have a compromised immune system then it’s proper bad for you.
Why don’t the press tell us x amount have recovered? Why focus on the negatives? Show us the positives, show us we can beat this and there is a future for everyone cos all this doom and gloom is infecting people on a grand scale.

If today's MSM were operating between 1939 - 1945, they would have been supporting Adolf !

Laura Kuenssberg, the mere mention of that name sends me into a cold sweat!! Awful bloody woman. Beth 'the joker' Rigby a close second.
