expectations next season
would be very happy with top six. probably wont happen next season but you never no.
mid table probably has more chance, and is more realistic.
lets hope we are not in a dog fight in the bottom half of the table please god.COYOS.

Re: expectations next season
I genuinely believe we are a second division team and club.
getting out of the third division is not going to be easy, hopefully though we could be back in division two in two or three seasons.
MAYBE YOU NEVER NO.

Re: expectations next season
I'm all for optimism, but I'm not sure what this view that we will challenge for the play-offs is based on. I fear that we have got used to being at or around the top this season and just expect it to continue without any real evidence for why. We might be getting ahead of ourselves, the first season back in the League is great and we should look to consolidate - win lots of home games and be prepared to battle.
Optimism is good and I hope it lasts, but I think we should also be prepared for a struggle - after all this is Orient!

Re: expectations next season
Almost a third of the division will end up in the playoffs or going up automatically. There is precedent for promoted teams making the playoffs (Lincoln and Tranmere) in recent seasons, and our previous showing in this league (2015-16) shows that a relatively poor team can make it to the cusp of the playoffs.bobo66 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 2:41 pm I'm all for optimism, but I'm not sure what this view that we will challenge for the play-offs is based on. Re: expectations next season
Our flair players should flourish next season not getting kicked to pieces every game but equally L2 football will be a lot less forgiving quality-wise. Our midfield has to improve or we will get overrun and punished.
My sole expectation is not going back down again, that would be a nightmare scenario. Mid-table or above would be great.

Re: expectations next season
Play offs as a minimum. This group can do it as long as we can hang onto JE. And I don’t see too many players coming in during the close season.

Re: expectations next season
Happy with a mid table season. No concerns looking at the bottom. Nice, easy, stress free season will do nicely.

Equally, last season Macclesfield were promoted as champions and they were very nearly relegated.Red_Army wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 2:46 pmAlmost a third of the division will end up in the playoffs or going up automatically. Re: expectations next season
The manager is the key reason, then the squad.bobo66 wrote: ↑Tue May 14, 2019 2:41 pm I'm all for optimism, but I'm not sure what this view that we will challenge for the play-offs is based on. Top half - hopefully challenging for play off or possibly automatic promotion.
Expect there to be two or three basket case clubs to keep Os safe from drop.

glad to see all are optimistic that we will not be fighting relegation.
sends out a strong message to the team that we are all behind them, and have every faith that we will do well.

Re: expectations next season
I'd be happy with a 2:1, especially if we manage to flirt with the top end of the table as opposed to a late run away from the bottom.
