I'm no economist but wouldn't that just lead to hyper inflation, devalue the pound and lead to sky high prices or something? Why ignore other deaths? Definitely headed in the right direction but BECAUSE of lockdown. As soon as you lift it those numbers go up again.
There’s certainly an argument for austerity and financial crashes causing more deaths but as it stands, f*** the economy. It’ll be alright if there’s another month lockdown.
The numbers infected will likely go up, they have to keep it manageable and those at serious risk should continue to isolate so that deaths can be kept down.
Austerity will mean misery for millions in all sorts of ways for years.

No. If they money is used for extensive public works and investment in infrastructure it will stimulate real demand in the economy.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 2:26 pmI'm no economist but wouldn't that just lead to hyper inflation, devalue the pound and lead to sky high prices or something? Awesome, we could then sell these assets off at knock down prices to Australian pension funds and the Chinese government or Jacob Rees Moggs mates in the City.Max B Gold wrote: ↑Fri May 08, 2020 2:31 pmNo. Re: Coronavirus
Dynamo Dresden have put their entire squad and coaching staff into two-week isolation after two players tested positive for coronavirus. The Bundesliga 2 club is due to restart their season on Saturday, 16 May. Not a huge surprise.

Re: Coronavirus
Something I can't be bothered to Google: do we have about as much chance of defeating covid19 as defeating the common cold?

Yes, It's called a Vaccine. As far as I'm aware, there is no cure for the Common Cold but I would caution it would be like comparing Apples with Oranges.

Re: Coronavirus
There is no other choice I'm afraid as if people go back too quickly to their old ways, this Covid would take off like wildfire. Most people would be better behaved now and most would keep the social distance, sneeze into sleeve and wash the paws but it only takes a few clusters especially in highly populated areas and you could end up back at square one. This is painful for almost all in Society but that's all we have got at this point.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 11:06 pmThanks Donald.DonaldRocks wrote: ↑Sat May 09, 2020 11:04 pm Yes, It's called a Vaccine. Ps. I'm pretty certain that the Vaccine being clinically trialled at the moment out of Oxford works.
And, their are some selfish cnuts out and about. I saw a couple coming back from New York with their child about 6 weeks ago and all the extended clann up having drinks and barbecues together. They dodged a bullet but the could also have been assisting to spread the virus, the selfish mother fuckers.
