You described it as further evidence of government incompetence. Believe the Guardian's spin on the story if you like, but to me the headline does not match the substance of the story.
Instead of trialling the Curative saliva-test kits for accuracy, the Government didn't even bother.
In the same way, when there have been offers to supply PPE, they didn't bother.
When they were offered the purchase of ventilators via the EU - again, they didn't bother.

This smacks completely of the incompetence of this Tory Government. Their mismanagement of this entire crisis has been truly appalling.
