Rugby League

£16 million from the government, got to save the sport and the communities that follow it etc. Football does not matter then?

I am a big RL fan. Politics has a lot to do with this donation. A lot of Northern towns voted the Tories in for the first time ever. Those Mps have lobbied Johnson. It is a great game with the top players only earning what a top Div 1 player would earn. Others similar to or probably less than O'S

Nothing against the game, just the one-sidedness of the decision.

Yeah, apparently money is being dished out on the basis of votes for Tories. The Highland Shinty Association is getting £2.50.

You may be right but Labour would have probably done the same and for pretty much the same reasons. Rugby League, along with a number of other smaller sports, is a pretty bankrupt industry. As long as the government then proceeds to support other smaller, or local based, sports/sports institutions then I don't have a problem with this.
