Re: Liverpool
Makes Leicester’s title seem more incredible. I expect current top 6 to stay as is next season. Only question is can Liverpool challenge City again. Other four will still be behind. Gap between 6th and 7th has been big last two seasons.EH16 wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 12:12 pmFinancially, yes.Howling Mad Murdock wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 10:57 am Is the gulf divide between the big and small teams getting larger?

Re: Liverpool
I agree.I suppose the league table says that with two teams finishing 25 points better off than the rest and near on 100 points.Without the Spurs/Arsenals/Chelseas and Man Utd.RientO wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 12:24 pmMakes Leicester’s title seem more incredible. Re: Liverpool
City lost to Newcastle, Palace, Leicester and Chelsea. So three of the sides who beat them were mid table. City should arguably have done better.
None of their top 6 rivals did much damage (Liverpool drew and lost). Other draw was wolves, so City took 6 points off Arsenal, Spurs and Man U.

Re: Liverpool
Liverpool fans must be really upset - 97 points and with nothing to show for it (ha ha).
I grew up when Liverpool were the top team in the 70s and 80s when they won the League practically every year (or it seemed like that). That is one reason that I have no love for Liverpool, I suppose it's mainly jealousy.
I have nothing against the Club itself but I hate the way Liverpool supporters seems to think that they have a divine right to success. I also hate the way the media loves them and thinks that all of the public love them too.
Sorry as I know this was a bit of a rant.

Re: Liverpool
Its not really wrong then is itRientO wrote: ↑Mon May 13, 2019 9:38 amThat is wrong. Impossible to compare as there were differing numbers of teams hence different number of games.
Liverpool did win title with 68 points in a 42 game season with 2 points for a win which would equate to 98 points (W30 D8 L4). But that is with 4 extra games.
98 points from 42 games
97 points from 38 games
Makes sense this liverpool would have come 2nd with
109 points from 42 games.

Re: Liverpool
Nope.
What you have written suggests
Liverpool would play 42 games & Man City would
Only play 38 games in the same season.
I would suggest liverpool
2nd on 109 points
While City would have been 1st with 110 points.
Come on RientO keep up with the program

Re: Liverpool
97 points would have won 113 out of 119 seasons titles.
Other teams whose seasons were in a 2 points for a win campiagn could not have reached 97 points only 84 maximum .
If you have a problem speak to BBC 5 live about it fella

It's always nice on top of hot chocolate in the winter with some marshmallows thrown on top for good measure.

Re: Liverpool
No i quoted a bbc worker .
You were wrong claiming other teams & 2 points for a win would have finished higher than Liverpool.
