Longer that this pandemic continues you can see League Two being ended uncompleted.

If that's the case likelihood is that Stevenage will get a reprieve, how they are going to decide promotion from the NL and from our division is anybody's guess. It will get very messy that's for sure.

I think applying points per game is the only way to go but who knows.

I’d feel sick for Barrow if they don’t make it back into the EFL.

It’ll be interesting to see what the NL decide re promotion & relegation. Their instincts I’d think would be to want promotion to the EFL regardless of which clubs benefit, but for consistency they’d then have to ensure promotion & relegation within the NL too.

And can’t help thinking ……… thank goodness we got promoted last season before all this!

Stevenage could complain that they were not mathematically relegated to the National League when they called a halt to football. Hard as it would be on Barrow, I think the fairest thing would be to abandoned this season all together. Unless of course they abandon next season and finish this season then. The way things are going with this virus, that could be the reality of it.

I'd go for complete behind closed doors/into next season and either cancel next season or have a truncated season next year with teams only playing each other once, home or away decided at random

Deciding positions on the current table when there was a quarter of the season to go seems like the absolute worst option to me. It would also be just a little bit funny if Liverpool didn't have it awarded to them and then finished 2nd next season.

Just wonder how long they think the general population will put up with social distancing before going sod this "I'm having my mates round for a pint."

Also if they're going to get people back to work public transport is where it will be rife. So smaller sporting events will be of no consequence.

If they play any matches behind closed doors and stream them live I can imagine quite a few fans will turn up outside the grounds and watch the match on their phones and cheer/moan/boo as usual. How will the Polis handle that?

Maybe this will lead to regionalising the lower leagues to minimise travel and save costs.

Never wanted regionalisation but the football world is a different place nowadays. I can see there being a Premier league, Championship and then divisions 1&2 being regionalised North & South.
Could also see some form of salary cap being introduced. There may be a change of the loan system which may well see more Premier league youngsters joining league clubs as the quantity on loan signings is increased. The danger there could be a drop in the players contracted and belonging to league clubs outside the premiership.
The Premiership itself has been exposed to how fragile there financial situation is and clubs will probably look to decrease players salaries when contracts are up, if not before.

Regionalisation seems a bit daft. Travel costs for away fixtures are pretty minor compared to wages, even at League 2 level. Also, how do you draw your map for the leagues? North South transport is often easier / faster / cheaper than East - West.

A better way to save money throughout the game would be to introduce caps on numbers of players you can register (NOT a salary cap - an absolute number of registrations). That would automatically drive down wages at the very top of the game and force players to move down the leagues (and payscale) to get employed. Football's going to be on a very different financial footing across the world when all this is "over" (whenever that is, and whatever "over" looks like)

With Bury gone, the EFL remains a team short, and were the season to be scrapped with no promotion/ relegation, I wonder if the EFL would still want to take a team up from the NL, well I imagine they would from a financial perspective, so it would then be a case of if it could be achieved.
