That probably does explain it. With testing to be ramped up further these figures will likely not significantly decrease for a few weeks.

You should have been in Aldi yesterday morning then.Redcard wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 1:27 pm Some youngsters are indifferent to the fact that by not staying indoors, and distancing they are spreading the virus.
I have seen locally groups of 3,4,5, congregating, and through the media groups flouting the lockdown order.
I’ve yet to see groups of pensioners doing likewise.
But yep, I accept that there are groups of teenagers who aren't taking this seriously and not social distancing, of course there are some like that.

Re: Coronavirus
The idea of having some kind of pass if you're immune is basically bringing in ID cards in by the back door. ID cards that will also link to your health information and work address. Would be very easy to cross reference with this idea of a contact tracing app to give near complete surveillance of any individual. Anyone actually believe that the information will only be used in relation to controlling the pandemic and the requirement will be given up as soon as practically possible?

So the antibody tests don't work and having antibodies doesn't guarantee immunity. This just gets better and better!

For a level-headed daily commentary on the outbreak, I find Dr John Campbell's clips on YouTube quite good.
Here he is explaining the death rate figures, and differentiating between those die with or die of Covid-19:

Re: Coronavirus
Good video, thanks for sharing.
I get that 4k is a good base size but I'm not sure about how the findings from GB in March would translate to New York. While the vast majority who died may have existing conditions, factors in those who don't such as diet, exercise, alcohol intake will likely influence survival chances if they catch the virus.
Will be interested to see the same data splits for the April figures when they become available.

888 more deaths. But the figures I'm seeing still on a small downward trend from April 8th

Re: Coronavirus
Hospital cases have dropped 5% from yesterday, this is good news. the infection rate will be all over the shop, the number of cases will increase because numbers have gone up with testing more people. Probably a better indication would be a % of those tested who were infected but we will have to work those figures out if we can get that data.
But the reducing numbers in hospital will mean less ICU patients and should if the trend continues start to relieve some pressure on the NHS.

Jeez, that's just total misrepresentation of what was said. Go back to around 0:48 when the question clearly asks if this virus was manmade.
As a very basic principal you should take virtually everything Fox says with a huge pinch of salt.
