No, we were a couple of thousand votes away from a Labour government in 2017. That’s what was being discussed.
I think it was a few more than that in 2019...
I love the way the left spin the facts ....Over 750,000 more votes for the Tories and a 55 seat margin between the parties in 2017 and there were 3.7 million votes between The Tories and Labour in 2019 and just the 164 seats difference.......a few more

2019 "a Joke" is the only way you could possibly describe Corbyn and his left wing cronies.
I'm not a lover of the Tories but like many hardcore Labour voters in 2019 didn't see the them as any sort of viable alternative. If Starmer moves towards the centre and can get rid of all the left wing extremist Labour just might have a chance in four and a half years time.
Well yes exactly, if only. If only HQ were on board and acting in the Party's best interests. If only those snakes hadn't been trying to undermine the leader and his team. If only they had been focusing on key marginals, rather than diverting funds to TW to ensure he won. If only they hadn't been using anti-semitism as a tool with which to discredit Corbyn. If only they would have rather had a Jezza led Labour government than another 5 years in opposition with someone else at the helm.

Absolute c*nts, one and all.
And now those snakes are crawling lower than low: they, through their union, did a vote of no confidence in the new general secretary (the one who worked extremely hard to unravel this sh*t show while also receiving treatment for cancer). Seems that they didn't like having been named and thought that with the Corona epidemic, sympathy for sufferers should be priority on everybody's mind.
It's a shame some people are trying to burn the house down on their way out.
There's a real opportunity here for Sir Keir to make inroads but unfortunately some people can't accept party democracy and are trying to sabotage his leadership from the start
Im so glad Ive now finished with the Labour party. What those bastards did to a good & kind man ( Corbyn), turns my stomach over.
Soon there will be new left wing groups and I will associate myself with one ( or more) of them. Proper Socialist minds all coming together.

The irony of this is absolutely off the effing charts.

Eat the rich, at a time of crisis and after the worst defeat for 35yrs the party needs to unite
An alliance between the Corbynites who got us in this mess and the adults running it now would be formidable
Granted it won't be an easy task, given the woeful seat tally Corbyn left us.
Let's put that behind us now though, Keir is great, my only criticism so far would be he hasn't brought back Angela EAGLE.
Everyone who needs a Labour government is relying on the defeated left to get on board and get behind Sir Keir to deliver a Labour Govt.

Is that just like the defeated right got behind the leader when they lost in 2015 &2016?

And as everyone knows being an obnoxious and patronising tool is exactly the way to engender unity and cooperation.
The Centre and the Right of Labour have no ideas. We are in a period of deep systemic crisis and trying to pretend anything other than a radical reshaping of our economy and society is going to head that off is absolutely asinine and yet that is the raisen d'etre of the Centre and the Right of the Labour party. I fully expect Starmer's Labour to tack quite hard Right and attempt paint themselves as more fiscally responsible than the Tories and to endorse a renewed austerity agenda. We'll have to see if I'm right but that is the sense that I'm getting.

Let’s hope you are right.
Really? What will that achieve other than to exasperate the crisis and put the final nail in the coffin of the Labour party. If you want Britain's only Social Democratic party to become obsolete as per PASOK then, yeh I guess, Woo! for more austerity.

If only these principled Marxists hadn’t leaked the report in a final, spiteful move.

Austerity is going to be back whether we like it or not and won’t the Tories have a hard-on about that fact.
