Re: Coronavirus
Whilst I'm sure there is an essence of wummery in there somewhere, Caca is broadly right. The old (and those with underlying health conditions) are the ones most at risk from this. We need to concentrate on protecting them. Whilst not wanting to seem blase or underestimate this virus, the risk to the rest of us is low. As I understand, the only way out of a permanent lockdown is either a vaccine is found and issued to all 300,034,974,000 people on the planet, or we build up herd immunity amongst the youngest and fittest to stop it spreading.
He's also right that a lot of the elderly are the ones who just don't 'get' social distancing.

Re: Coronavirus
You can't use Mail readers as an example of normal people.
From personal experience, the only people I've had any issue with in the supermarkets is older men who get the arse ache at having to queue up and then fail to keep their distance in the store. We all know the sort. (That's obviously not to say all older people are like that).

Not really, its one of the best selling newspapers, so you are in denial if you think a vast amount of people do not share their opinions.

Who do you mean by young then? Are you still trying to fit into that category. Bit of a stretch, no?Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 10:30 am old is a state of mind, but generally the over 60s

Ahh right, so whilst you point out that "oldies" are mainly right wing you're then perfectly happy to reference a right wing Tory rag like the Mail. Aren't you a bit confused?Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 10:47 am Not really, its one of the best selling newspapers, so you are in denial if you think a vast amount of people do not share their opinions.
I mean, by all means carry on wumming but try and be consistent. Even Thor is better at this than you mate.

Pushing it a bit there I feel. Any youngster would think you're an old git tbh. Thing is they can't see your mind, only the beer gut and dissatisfied look on your face.Prestige Worldwide wrote: ↑Fri Apr 17, 2020 10:53 am Young is a state of mind, but generally the under 35s.

Re: Coronavirus
While young people are able to withstand the virus , they by their selfish behavior are spreading it to older people who are more vulnerable. Suddenly older people have in the eyes of some become expendable.
Remember all you young folks, you want to get old, the alternative is not preferable.

Re: Coronavirus
Some youngsters are indifferent to the fact that by not staying indoors, and distancing they are spreading the virus.
I have seen locally groups of 3,4,5, congregating, and through the media groups flouting the lockdown order.
I’ve yet to see groups of pensioners doing likewise.

Re: Coronavirus
Here's hoping that the increase in new cases is just down to more testing being carried out. Not good though.
