Ten years on: Leyton Orient 2-1 Norwich
With it being ten years to the day since one of my favourite ever O's games I tried to write something about it.
Would love to hear anyone else's memories of that night too.

Really enjoyed reading that, Brendan. Remember the match well and we had some cracking players in that squad. I also had a feeling we'd get a result from that match.
That league was good fun too; Brentford, Southend, Brighton, Gillingham, Southampton, Leeds and Norwich.

Also, was that the year of the infamous Sunshine Bus trip to Bristol, when the pub stop ended up with us all cheering on the local Pucklechurch FC?

Good article, well written.
I remember the game well, as well as afterwards a load of Norwich fans being pleased we won as they were pretty much up and they wanted us to survive.
Also, might be making this up but seem to remember Slade first game as Brighton boss was against us when we were also struggling and they beat us. Remember one of the goals was a defensive calamity.

It was, but we actually won that game. They took the lead through a huge defensive cock-up, we equalised with a dubious penalty (McGleish celebrating in front of all their fans ) and a Thornton screamer from the edge of the box won it for us in the last minute.
That win over Norwich was one of my fave Orient games. Hadn’t won in months, they were almost promoted, thought we were gonna get smashed. First year of uni. Amazing gameplan from Slade, and Thornton was on fire

Was a great night. Can count the number of times I'd describe Brisbane road as rocking on one hand I reckon, but that was definitely one of them. Great atmosphere, great performance and a great escape from relegation in the end.

Ah yes, memories. Drove down from Norwich (where I work) with a mate after work, knowing various colleagues were heading down too but they were hoping for a very different result. Was a good match, a key game in our survival fight, City fans I spoke to the next day felt it was the right result on the night, they couldn’t say fairer than that I guess.
And not many seasons later I was at Carrow Road for the F.A. Cup match, which became the second time I’d seen us dump the Canaries out on their own ground.

Think the Mcgleish celebration was a different game after he scored from an indirect free kick in the box.
