It is projected that the UK will account for around 40% of Europe's deaths. Worrying, given that we aren't due to peak until around a weeks' time?

At the end of the day, a fair degree of blame clearly has to be pointed at this utterly useless, incompetent Tory Government. Tory sychophants will obviously defend them; and argue otherwise. However, their defence, proven by these increasing numbers, is now embarrassingly wafer-thin.

- Meanwhile, still we await NHS Staff to even be tested!

- Still we await NHS Staff to have correct PPE!

- Still we await the rest of us to be tested.

- And still we await a true figure of the number of respirators that will become available; and by when.

As each day passes, the UK Government briefings are becoming even more desperate, unconvincing, utterly incredulous.

It is clearly apparent that this crisis is being handled by a shambolic, clueless, lying Government.

May God have mercy upon us.
You were abusing a pensioner on here for raising concerns about NHS capacity

You also proudly bragged about going to the pub when the government advised not to
Already answered that in a previous post......do keep up.

With all due respect, I hear first hand about N.H.S. capacity; to the extent that I probably know more about it than people such as yourself, who appear to rely purely upon the MSM.

Moreover, instead of the usual 'whataboutery', how about addressing the points within a post; instead of quoting it; but then diverting from the content within?

I'm pointing out your hypocrisy

You taunted and abused a pensioner who questioned NHS capacity (and still haven't apologised).

You also bragged about going to the pub after social distancing was advised by the government.

Now you're telling the government (rightly) to step up capacity.

Were they advising social distancing at that point? Schools were still open, weren’t they?

(Although accept I may be wrong as I haven’t checked and have totally lost all track of time these past few weeks).

What are you on about 'taunted and abused a pensioner'.
What has somebody's age got to do with responding to them via a post?

When I went to the pub, 'social distancing' was hardly at the top of everyone's agenda. I also went to work every day (including that previous Weekend) and worked in an office with a number of other people.

Therein lies the problem, doesn't it. The problem that you can't admit to.

The pub....was STILL open.

The vast majority (all?) of businesses and workplaces....were STILL open.

Schools and colleges....were STILL open.

Shops, supermarkets, restaurants....were STILL open.

So the initial question for Tory sychophants is really quite simple. WHY didn't Boris Johnson and his inept Government, put us into lockdown SOONER?

So let's not keep diverting with meaningless jibes. As mentioned earlier, if you are going to quote someone's post, let's actually see you respond to the content.

In this instance, what do YOU think about the Tory Government's handling of this crisis?

What do YOU think of the fact that NHS Staff have not yet been tested for Covid-19?

What do YOU think of the fact that the majority of NHS Staff still do not have adequate PPE?

What do YOU think of the fact that the PPE they do have does not meet WHO advice/guidelines?

What do YOU think is the problem over virus testing the rest of us; compared to, let's say, Germany?

What do YOU think of the (admitted) Tory balls-up by not purchasing Respirators in time with other EU Countries?

What do YOU think of the time it is taking to purchase further respirators?

What do YOU think of the fact that the UK is 24th out of 31 EEA Countries for our abysmal number of Intensive Care beds?

Why do YOU think there are 10,000+ Nursing vacancies in the NHS?

Hypocrisy? Hilarious?

Those are two boxes that you most certainly tick!

Without being political, I would agree that the delay in getting effective testing and adequate PPE is pretty disgraceful because it has led to unnecessary deaths.

Up to the end of May at least I reckon.
Nearly 1,000 dead yesterday they can’t possibly even think about relaxing things.
I feel a bit sorry for the Police trying to sort out people this weekend who fancy a stroll out in a park or by the seaside etc
The economic damage being done is very bad and will take a long time to recover from.

Tufty, I have already admitted that I was wrong to go out.

But let's get one thing straight - where have I said I went out the night before closure? I went out on a Wednesday. There was a total of three of us, sitting in the lounge bar (albeit the other bar was quite busy). Prior getting to the pub, I went into Asda. There were SWARMS of people, side by side, buying the last products left on the shelves.

However, you are conveniently missing one point. What about the fact that I, and millions of others, were still going to work at that time (and for the following 5 days actually, from Thurs - Tues)?

I work in a large, open plan office. I was in an environment containing many more people than the small lounge bar of my local.

Indeed, millions of people were still at work during the same period.

I was totally wrong to go out - and I've already admitted that. What do you want me to do - turn back time?

But whatever way you spin it, the Government were not clear in their advice. Businesses, shops and places of work WERE still open. In fact, I seem to remember Scotland and Wales closing down before Johnson the :clown started shutting up shop in England?

And if we are talking about risk, real world risk on a daily basis, then try being married to a nurse; who comes home each day having completed yet another shift with the bare minimum of PPE. We're (particularly her) significantly more at risk currently than you and millions of others!

Until you can get your facts right, keeping schtum might be your best option.

Can someone please clarify the timeline?

As far as I understand it, nuneatonO went to a pub for a drink one night. At this point in time, everything was still open. We still had to go to work. Parents still had to send their kids to school.

That’s right, isn’t it?

What day is it anyway? Everyday now seems the same. Let me know if I'm wrong but I don't remember Boris shutting down any mass gatherings. If I can remember it was the sporting organisations themselves that were eventually doing it and they were not super fast but what do you expect when you had no leadership. If I can remember we had that toss pot owner of Weatherspoons saying that the chance of picking up the virus is basically non existent.

The figures coming out again from many countries including the UK are simply not accurate.

This is not what I would call fun. We are now living through History. Alot of this sacrifice could have been avoided. The intelligence services in the US were aware back in November and Trump knew too but he is a "Stable genius". God bless America.
