Don't worry Boris; Matt Hancock will have your ventilator ready.......by the end of the week........errrrrr by the end of the month.......errrrrr, it's on urgent order as "it's very imporrrrrrtant", so sometime soon. He thinks. Hopefully.
Still think this is funny or clever? You should hang your head in shame. Depending on WHICH expert you listen to you’ll get totally different opinions. Boris took advice and acted on that . Only when it’s all over will we know who may have been right or just more right than wrong! I just hope he makes a quick and speedy recovery,
Still?

I didn't think it was funny when I wrote it.

Do you consider the lack of life-saving equipment 'funny'?

I find the Tory-handling of this entire situation anything but funny.

I find it an abysmal failure of a Tory Government.

I also find Tory Sychophants, brainwashed into believing that they've handled this crisis well, as truly and utterly blinkered.

By the way, what's the difference between a 'quick' and 'speedy' recovery? Aren't they the same thing?

Anyway, I blame Diane Abbott and Jeremy Corbyn for all this, don't you? :clown
No, I don’t. (Blame Abbott and Corbyn) I actually don’t ‘blame’ anyone for the way this crisis is being dealt with.

Yes quick and speedy recovery is just a phrase which repeats itself , thank you for pointing out my error.

I do,however, believe the government acted on the best advice they were given. Only time will tell who was right .

The truth is no one, not even you, could predict what the outcome was/is/ might be. Or do you think you know better than Boris’ experts? If so on what grounds?

Even George W knew you needed to prepare .

No-one listened to the 1 thing he probably got right over anything.

Boris knew more than the experts. Why else would he go around openly flouting their advice and making a point of shaking hands in public for everyone to see. Hardly the qualities of a great leader.

What was the purpose of saying
Lock up your nurses. Was it

a) Informed advice from NumeatonO?
b) a ‘clever’ jibe?
c) an attempt to be funny?
d) stupid statement

Firstly, nobody has said they hope Boris dies. Just because he's ill doesn't erase all the things he's done wrong during this crisis. He, and his government have put thousands of people at risk by their incompetence. Nothing will change that.

I suppose not many people believed the news coming out of Downing Street. Some people thought he was lying low riding out the storm. I know they are saying he isn't on a ventilator and this move with precautionary measure. That his condition worsened. Perhaps, they are downplaying this still. I don't know

My source confirms they are downplaying it. If it wasn't serious he wouldn't be in hospital.

Rubbish. Explain their ‘incompetence’ and how they have put thousands of people at risk. According to who ( and are these people also ‘experts’)

If he’s in intensive care it means that his lungs are in trouble. He’ll have been anaesthetised and put on a ventilator. That’s pretty serious.

At least now he can put his herd immunity theory to the test himself.

I was conscious the whole time I was in intensive care. Didn't have COVID19 though.

It's not 'his' really. I really doubt he was given a menu of massively diverging options and he plumped for herd immunity for x reason. It's a theory assumed likely to be the inevitable outcome of the pandemic by a lot of people in that field as I understand it, as the time it takes to develop a vaccine is probably too lengthy to come before herd immunity happens anyway. Obviously hasn't failed yet either as we haven't got proof of 60-70% infection yet.

Hope he recovers OK and that they're just being overly cautious due to his status. The stories of what ICU is like with this thing are unbelievably grim.

Cummings was quite happy for the herd immunity theory test by all accounts

I can't be asked to rehash all the discussions that have already taken place, but as a quickie, how about all the NHS staff on the front line who haven't the correct PPE? How about the lack of testing and the farce that has entailed about increasing this? Look it up yourself. You'll even find some of it in the Tory press it's got that bad.

He and Cummings adopted that approach because it kept the economy going. They accepted it would result in preventable deaths. And figured it was a price worth paying by other people. It never occurred to him he would have to pay the price.

He completely understimated the seriousness of the situation as shown by his deliberate public flouting of the handshake advice.

He hasn't been by all reports. Think it's a case of move him there and ventilate as necessary. Probably needed to be moved to ensure he has access to a ventilator if needbe.

Regardless of the politics that people want to thrash about in rather than express concern or offer best wishes for a full recovery, He is a human being and as such doesn't deserve this hatred from the vile looney left still smarting over the election result. I'm concerned for him, the tone and timing of bulletins don't calm me, I'm worried, had me thinking who was the last PM to die in office.
Answering my own question
Henry John Temple 3rd Viscount Palmerstone died 1865

I’m hearing people say the impact of lockdown on the economy and peoples’ health could be as damaging as the virus. The signs are showing already. What don’t people get. It’s a Head you lose, tails you lose situation. There is no great solution only best guesses at minimising the damage.

Minimising the damage? You can rebuild the economy. You can support the people affected financially, albeit you might have to tax the rich and the corporations a bit to fund it.

You can’t bring back dead people.

Christ on a bike. How do you equate economic problems with human lives? You are a true Tory, well done.

The continued implication that anybody who voted Tory cares any less about human life than those who didn't is pathetic.

They care about others less, absolutely.
