I've never used them but told by a friend that Iceland usually have some slots available as they dont release them weeks in advance like the other supermarkets.

Online shopping in these times should only be for those who cannot get to the shops, not for fit people who can actually visit a store.
Disabled people, who are running out of food are getting very worried by not being able to get a online slot, because selfish able people are hogging them.
I went to the shops twice last week, to buy food for old people who cant go out, but couldnt get an online slot. Without me God knows what would have happened
If youre able to get out, then go to the store & leave the slots for those who cant

I am trying to self-isolate because: I am 72, had cardiac arrest which left me with a dicky ticker and am type 2 diabetic. I have had 4 deliveries from Morrisons. Each one seems to be less successful. Last Friday they were meant to deliver a shipping order between 4 & 5 pm. By 6.45 nothing had arrived. I rang them, took 35 minutes to get an answer. Girl could see my order and couldn't see why I hadn't had it. She made some enquiries and eventually said they were running late ( I don't believe her ). Eventually my order turned up 8.40. Lots of missing items. The type of stuff a shop would run short of late in the day. I suspect they had forgotten or something and after a phone call, turned out late.
I immediately booked another slot, that being the 24th of April. It is a bit of a worry, wondering whether essentials will last 3 weeks. I have a friend with poor health and she and her husband get me some stuff. But it is a worry being reliant on other people.
Some observations: Delivery slots early in the morning, tend to have less missing items. Wilko do a delivery service via Hermes. They have been delivering my dog food. They will mix up items for your £5 so I get stuff like shampoo, bird peanuts etc.
Worrying thing is, I can see somewhere along the line I gonna Have to go on a supermarket crawl to get certain essentials. The panic buyers should take a long hard look at themselves.

Some good points. The one I'd like to make is the help you are providing to others, well done you are doing something worthwhile and positive.

If we all did just a little bit to help others life would be so much better.

Keep up the good work coyos and others who are doing the same things.

Apparently, Sainsburys are rationing their online shopping to the vulnerable and will not give slots to anyone else. If you think you're vulnerable and want to appeal, you can phone up and see if they'll include you. My Mum and Dad - aged 80 and 90 respectively - are not considered vulnerable enough, apparently (which I suppose is a good thing, sort of)

Luckily they have got some kind neighbours who are offering to get them essentials.

It'd be a much better system if they closed the stores and only did delivery

West side story there will be no need for you to go out. Contact NHS direct and ask them to put you in contact with an NHS Volunteer in your area and I gaurentee there will be several. They will make contact with you and be able to go out and shop for you. Let me know how you get on.

Top of the JES...Thank you! But I am ultra cautious. I take my dog out for a 30 minute cruise around Grays avoiding people like the plague. I am always looking around to make sure people are not too close. Mind you, some people are just plain daft!

That's good a little exercise helps but with your pre existing condition you should avoid supermarkets. A volunteer would be more than happy to get those essentials for you. Stay Well.
