What even is Tiptree and Maldon?

Post by Ronnie Hotdogs »

Are they that bad they have to field 2 teams? How far down the pyramid are they. If we don’t hit double figures against this sort of dross, it will be embarrassing.

Local jam and salt makers merged to make a super condiment team.

Yes it would be embarrassing, almost as embarrassing as your ignorance.

If you dont treat them with respect it could come back to bite you on the Arse! Bigger clubs than us have come a cropper but i know that the management and players will be proffesional about it. If you dont know anything about them (cant believe that really) then check them out.

Just checked out their record and they have won every game by big margins. So not a great standard but they are obviously a well run team! We will need to field a reasonably strong team - if we are to avoid embarrassment! Do the job and we are one round away from the big boys!

16 wins from 16 games. I saw them win 5-1 earlier this season nice tidy little team but they play in Isthmian North, so we would have to have a mare for them to get a result. That said we have had some bad results (Hendon anybody?) in games of this ilk.

I would imagine Steve Castle is a bit sick about this draw as T&M knocked out Pizza mans Royston Town in the last round would have been nice for him to come back as a manager. Mind you the half time pizza delivery man would have needed an armed guard.

Chichester City who received a bye and £36000 gaurenteed prize money because of the demise of Bury, have just tweeted that they intend to make a donation to the fighting fund set up to save Bury FC.

They play at the same level as Maldon and Tiptree who we play and described as dross by RedO. Chichester may turn out to be not the best of footballing teams in the second round but that is a classy gesture in direct contrast to RedO and his classless comment.

Would Royston have been allocated the same ball number as Tiptree and Maldon if they had beaten them?

We lost 3 - 2 to Canvey Island pre-season. Maldon beat Canvey 5 - 0 last month.

Think we had a team mainly made up of kids that day CS, but they do score a lot of goals.

Maybe there super striker wants to prove a point and make an impression. Treat them with the respect they deserve in my opinion.

I used to play against them in the 90s when they were Maldon Town. Pitch wasn't that clever back then, used to get waterlogged very easily.

It’s the FA Cup. Always a chance of a surprise

But I am sure the coaching staff will prepare accordingly to prevent embarrassment

Yes, when we play these types of teams my mind always goes back to our FA Cup tie against Hendon years ago . I thought all we had to do was turn up.....mistake. That taught me that we should never underestimate any team. A potential banana skin comes to mind

Don't think I ever played against Maldon but pretty sure I played against Tiptree United back in the early 90s, but I was generally still off my tits most Saturday afternoons so may be slightly confused.

Had more clubs than Jack Nicklaus 😂
Played for Saffron Walden then, also played for Leytonstone & Ilford, Bishops Stortford, Hitchin & Royston.
