Why The Delay?
I wonder why the club havent announced the new manager yet, seeing as were led to believe he was signed up by Saturday
Maybe the club have been rocked by the hostility towards fletcher ( if its him),on social media, and are having a change of heart

Re: Why The Delay?
issues with Personal terms maybe? One request was that he did not have to come to every O's game as he still wanted to asses the Bournemouth players that were out on loan and that was a huge commitment.

Re: Why The Delay?
what does it say when you have managed a club and then the best you can do is manage no the players at the club but keep a track of the loan players sent out by the club you work for. He is a well paid scout
Re: Why The Delay?
The club didn't say Fletcher was signed up, they just said an agreement was made with someone.
I just can't see it being Fletcher now. There surely would not be any barriers, and I don't think Bournemouth would stand in his way, it is a step up for him and a loan manager must be quite an easy position to replace.
In the past few days we've had a few bits of news:
- Story leaked to the press about Fletcher
- Club getting in a kid to work on U18 reports without payment
- Budweiser being served on tap in the bar
I reckon Teague and Travis have had a bit of a bet to see what sort of bad news the club could put out before <insert stooge name here> actually dares to say they have reservations with it.

Re: Why The Delay?
Why didn’t you just add this question in the already live thread?
Kent has said negotiations are underway and should be concluded early next week, which kind of ends today. Just because all and sundry in the press are reporting does not mean it’s concluded.
Contracts have to be drawn up and agreed before it can be announced. Have you ever had to negotiate a contract between 3 parties? Sometimes it’s a back and forth affair between the lawyers until everyone is happy with clauses xyz.
So please be patient cos I know coyos is dying to rip the new manager new one.

Just bide your time mate. There'll be plenty of time to slag him/the club ahead of the next game.

Re: Why The Delay?
So Kent saying early next week was bullshit from someone who don’t understand contracts. Is that what you are suggestingThor wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 1:23 pm Why didn’t you just add this question in the already live thread?

Re: Why The Delay?
No not bullshit at all, I never said that just reiterated what he said. I would expect an announcement imminently based on what he said.
Boy your on one again today aren’t you?

Talking of delays, I wonder when will there be an announcement of the permanent tribute to JE?

Re: Why The Delay?
On Saturday Teague said the candidate had accepted the job and things needed to be sorted out between the two clubs. That's going to be the reason, nothing more and nothing less.ComeOnYouOs wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 1:06 pm I wonder why the club havent announced the new manager yet, seeing as were led to believe he was signed up by Saturday

Re: Why The Delay?
If a manager has accepted the job that means an offers has been made. The important terms, such as pay/length of contract etc, will have been agreed before the offer was accepted so not sure that drawing up an employment contract will take much longer than amending the standard boilerplate terms for a head coach at Orient based on what the new head coach wishes to negotiate on.Thor wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2019 1:23 pm Why didn’t you just add this question in the already live thread?

Maybe they'd rather it was announced after this event.
Would get Martin off the hook and avoid some difficult questions.

Re: Why The Delay?
Not really. But Kent knows the score, he knows all about contracts and the stuff you mentioned. Yet he chose to say early next week. Therefore it’s reasonable to expect an announcement by end of play today. There may well be, I hope there is.
Nobody forces these guys to quote a deadline but when they freely do it’s reasonable to expect them to stick with it.
Kent is a man of targets, listen to his interview. I’ve no doubt an announcement will be made today

Re: Why The Delay?
I think that's it Pandy, of course, the new guy has been told that he has to play Alabi in at least twenty games this season, and
that on top of a DoF, blimey what a dilemma.
