Re: Who will join in January?

The budget has been spent - They put their hands in their pockets every week to keep the club running. who do you think covers our weekly losses. But the budget doesn't know what our injury list is going to look like. It has to be adjusted accordingly. We've had horrific problems so far, we've curr...

Re: Who will join in January?

RW knew the budget when he signed a new contract in the summer and was happy with it - there wont be any new money without moving people out He knew the budget though I do wonder if he knew it'd be spent on Pigott whether he would've made different demands... Spot on , if it wasn’t RW that personal...

Re: Who will join in January?

Slightly concerning that Richie said the Jan window didn’t concern him and that it’s lings job to bring what’s needed in. Hinted at the fact he hasn’t got much involvement. Not sure that’s strictly true but the tone was worrying He said "I'm not bothered about that at all, I'll leave that to L...

Re: Who will join in January?

Don’t. Know anybody of that name playing or played for charlton Charlie Kirk was released by Charlton on Dec 20 . He is a winger so must be on Orients radar OK, I'll ask the obvious question . Why was he released ? Is he injury prone or something ? His goals to games ratio is very poor.

Re: Who will join in January?

Seriously, can the good, learned contributors herein tell me EXACTLY who makes the decisions on the players brought in? Easy, Richie tells them what players he wants and the board say you can’t have them. Bit like the darts program bull’s-eye “here’s what you could have had”🫢 Sounds about right to ...

Re: Who will join in January?

Are people seriously expecting us to sign anyone remotely exciting? Wellens is already pushing out the “we ain’t got no money” narrative and we aren’t even in January yet. We’re getting nobody of interest. Possibly a random loan player or 2. Kids who have never played league football. Richie knows ...

Re: Exiles thread - Bolton (A)

Think you have got to put today down to Richie, wrong starting eleven our midfield killed us first half, got the right players on second half and we bossed it and could have got a point. Richies learning too I guess. I can see what he was trying to do - rest key players in a busy period. But it bac...

Re: Wellens mid-table by Christmas (with Orient)

It's not quite comfortable mid-table though is it? I'm with Kent Teague that you really want to be in that sunnier 11th / 12th spot not within the bottom 8. I'd snap your hand off right now to finish in this current position but without reinforcements in January it'll be a real struggle to stay the...

After Tom Lockyer"s heart problems, l think this is a complete non-starter. This . Anyway I hope we have already identified the two players we want . We need them to be fit and ready to go . Absolutely, we need players that are league1 capable and have played regular first team football and ar...

Re: Exiles thread - Derby (H)

It will be interesting to see what Richie does against Cheltenham, just swapping some players in and out doesn't appear to be making any difference, maybe he needs to change the emphasis via formation change in the forward areas? The problem is RW doesn’t have any strikers. Piggot I think will go i...

So we're told the DoF doesn't interfere with the playing side The DoF planned before start of the season to make this role He then appoints his mate into it Our set pieces now cost us goals as well as being impotent at scoring from them Go figure... Will the club stop wasting money on set piece coaches and get rid of the dead wood that are clearly not up to league1 standard.
Will the club spend money where it is clearly needed and bring in quality, proven players of League 1 or above that are not sick notes ?

Re: Set piece coach

Not only do we never score from set pieces and are rubbish at defending them, we’ve actually reverted to conceding from our own attacking set pieces. Derby scored one, should have scored a second about 3 minutes later where they a had FIVE on one breakaway from out corner. A similar thing happened ...

Re: Give RW the funds

Cooper is an upgrade on Alex Mitchell, but he's still a bit too old school for our brand of tippy tappy football. Richie will choose Turns all day long. (And I'd probably have to agree with him....) Let’s face it anyone that’s quality will already have been signed or in a contract. Slim pickings I’...

Wellens has already said at the LOFT AGM he knows he will need to move a couple on to get new blood in.
And that is the problem, insufficient funds to do what’s needed without moving players on !!

The thing is and It has always been my main negative on Wellens is a lack of a plan b, every team gets injuries, suspensions, it's how you cope with them Well that's right, Wellens, seems to be immune from any criticism on this board. ' We just need a striker' has been the cry for a long time now a...
