Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

Teague has not sold up, he's just diminished. And Parry still has a significant stake - although it seems unlikely that either has been putting much in of late. There's also a few bits and pieces investors, including the new guys from this season: the dentist and the West Ham fan. So Travis is like...

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

We’ll wait and see. A group of people seeing potential in us and willing to invest in us is good. But £18m for us and the whole franchise thing sets alarm bells ringing. The £18m is just to clear the debt owed to the current owners. That £18m got us to L1. The new owners will need to put in around £...

Re: Emigration

My daughters out in Oz since October and says it's just like the UK. She's visiting Vietnam and Indonesia at the moment and popped over to NZ for a bit last month. Said NZ was like 1950s UK. Long term nowhere will be better than anywhere once the climate collapses. I hope you've educated her on the...

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

"Due diligence" = Have they got enough cash to give us our cash? Have they been horrid already somewhere else? That's about it I reckon, and to be fair Travis does not have a crystal ball as to what might happen. Any "re-brand" to the London Something would see me gone, but no d...

Re: Labour Watch

Just watched a Garys Economics video and he says Labour will fail because although they're being 'sensible' with the economy they aren't tackling inequality and are making the same mistakes the democrats did. Unless they can halt the slide in living standards they'll lose the next election. Just se...

I too was sceptical but have repented and converted to the Church of the Charlie Fan Club.

Not sure he will be able to step up to the Championship so easily next season when we finally get there, the hard way.

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

Not at all - the minority interests will have a minority say. Who is holding the 30% anyway? Minority shareholders can be a pain in the arse through requiring things to be done by the book etc. I’d guess it will be Travis with the 30%. Reckon it's more likely everyone leaves a bit in, maybe in curr...

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

Hoover already inflating the figure to make it sound like a cash grab  . £18m for a lower league club with no assets and clocking up 3m a year in losses feels crackers. Football really is a massive bubble waiting to burst. Luckily there appears to be an endless supply of rich American franchis...

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

We might need an emigration to Oz thread. I'm not going and you can't make me. Is the £10 scheme still running? Thinking of becoming an Outback Trucker I hear it's a tough life as an Outback Trucker ploughing through herds of kangaroos at full throttle. I was thinking the roos (as they call'em in O...

Re: US-based consortium close to £18m takeover

To get back on topic, im a little worried by this. Nigel has been a safe pair of hands for us, and despite due diligence, you never quite know what will happen. A fear of the unknown i suppose. It might end up with us playing second fiddle to an American sports team. Also what will the pitch look l...

Also very handy of her to have three kids by three fathers. Aside from the handy alliteration, she’s conveniently spread the kids among partners the exact right amount to seem careless while still just about plausible. Three kids by two partners? That’s just not feasible for message board point mak...
