Re: Soulless Stadium last night
There's plenty of decent pubs in Brentford. I like the New Inn. It's always a shame when old school grounds like Griffin Park are replaced by new build grounds. The bloke who owns Brentford clearly knows what he's doing and their achievements over the past decade are remarkable.

Re: Why are we not producing young strikers ?
It's often cyclical with youth teams. We've had periods were we'd get a glut of youngsters breaking through to the first team and then some barren years. I'm sure relegation from the Football League did some long term damage which will take a while to repair. There's lots of youngsters who I was sur...

Top 3 Most tedious sports.
Which sports do fellow boarders think are the most tedious and why ? My top 3 would be: 1) Formula One. Quite enjoyed it as a kid in 70's when it seemed exciting. Stopped watching it regularly in the early 90's. It just doesn't seem that interesting or competitive anymore. 2) Golf. Lost track of wha...

Re: Final League Position - speculation??
I'm going for 12th which I think would be a good achievement. We struggled badly initially but we've found out feet and are no longer easy to beat. Our lack of goals and vulnerability to key players getting injured/transferred is a bit of worry but we seem fairly safe.

Re: The ‘Magic’ of the FA Cup
The FA Cup has been devalued and the FA have been complicit in this. All the changes to the competition have been introduced to benefit the top clubs at the expense of everyone else. They've even allowed to final itself to be devalued. The top clubs complain about fixture congestion but would have b...

Re: QPR
QPR are in terrible financial trouble (even by Championship standards) and I suspect they'll have to trim their current squad drastically. I'd rather we didn't get Kelman back. I think the current squad are finding their feet at this level and should be allowed to get on with it.

Re: Southend FC
I still haven't forgiven Southend for signing Richard Cadette for a joke of a transfer fee (2.5 k ??) in 1985. However, I certainly don't want to see them go out of existence. Their fans support their local club as opposed to Chelsea,Man City,Man Utd or some other nonsense. We should be standing up ...

Re: England v Hungary
I didn't really want Southgate to get the job but he's done well overall. It's pretty clear that for years there were a lot of players who viewed playing for England as a chore. There was no cohesion or team spirit. Southgate has been lucky in some ways. Draws at tounaments have been kind and he's h...

Re: Curtis Davies...and LOFC
Apart from Kevin Lisbie, I can`t remember any former top player who has done well for us (Channing, Hodge, A. Martin, Shilton, Granville, Scowcroft, Henderson, Dunne, Nolan, etc. ect.) I like Davies, but I hope we will resist the temptation to sign him. There's some horror stories on that list. By ...

Re: Danny Johnson
Johnson will find another club. Strikers who've had one good season can often make a living on the back of that for years. I don't really blame him for leaving after enduring that awful tedious season under Embleton but not sure I'd want him back again.

Re: Rumours from today
If James and Ruel had signed new contracts then the club would have said so. I've got a feeling that Ruel's on his way to pastures new. I wouldn't blame him. He's been mismanaged by the club and we've not made the most of his potential.I hope I'm wrong. It would be great if Wellens could persuade hi...

. Pretty fair ratings. A very good team performance.Wood was excellent. Ruel missed a few chances but his presence seemed to unsettle their defence. Makes you wonder how he struggled to get into the team under both RE and KJ.

Re: Who do you want to go down with Scunthorpe?
Stevenage. They're not a proper football club. I'd like to see Barrow stay up. They were voted out the league just because it's a difficult place to get to ( same thing happened to Workington.) They battled long and hard to get their league status back. Not sure they've done themselves any favours b...

Re: Moss, Brown & Nouble
Yes, Callum Reilly is probably the worst case of uselessness since we signed a guy many years ago named Michael Marks. He also hardly played any game time while he was here, another complete waste of time and money. There are probably a few more like these two which I've forgotten. I saw Micheal Ma...

Evans will fit in well there. Deadful club managed by a convicted criminal. It would be a great shame if they avoided relegation again at Rochdale's expense.

Lampard and Everton
I've always kept an eye out for Everton's results as I've a few mates who support the Toffees and I've always wanted them to do well. That changed when they appointed Lampard. I can't stand the bloke. He's already seeking to distance himself from responsibility for their results. I think they're goi...

Difficult to see why Ogie's still benched. Does anyone know why we don't seem to have a keeper on the bench recently ?

Please not Neil Lennon. He's not very good at his job. Won titles with Celtic when there was no real competition. The minute Rangers started to get their act together his lack of managerial talent was exposed. We have to do better than that.

Re: What squad changes can we make?
It's not going to easy because the side have no confidence at all. Personally I'd like to see a 4-4-2 with Ruel in the centre up front with Smith or Drinan. We got to start scoring or we've had it. God knows what we do with the midfield.
