Re: Maidenhead v Orient matchday thread
It will be more interesting to see how our strikers perform. Big day for Drinan against non league opposition as he needs to make an impact.

Re: Players contracts that expire soon
If anyone looks carefully at lings slow jog back for Salfords third , its nothing short of a disgrace. How could anyone offer a player a contract after seeing this. Its embarrassing to the club, to supporters and sadly for himself. Admittedly, the others didn't put a tackle in but this slow jog, hid...

Re: Sticking to successful one up front formation
Great that we have now stuck out Soitriou on the wing with Wilkinson on the other meaning that DJ is now isolated upfront on his own. Great that Brophy has moved to left back . Does this sound familiar at all ? Then again, this is a formation that is tried and tested ....

Sticking to successful one up front formation
Even in the very last game, we are sticking to this one up front formation that has served us so well this season. Seriously. For the love of God ! No wonder DJ is leaving, without a strike partner all season. I've seen DJ, Wilkinson, Soitrou stuck out on the wing . I've seen Brophy stuck at left ba...

Team that could have got us to the playoffs
No way am i an expert but i do reckon that if we had focussed on this team from the start we may have had a chance of the playoffs : GK Vigaroux RB Turley CH Akinola CH Happe followed by Thompson LB Widdowsson CM Hector CM Jobi RW JMD followed by Kemp in number 10 roll. CF Johnson CF Wilkinson LW Br...

Re: Match Day Thread vs Mansfield 2nd April 2021
What a total surprise it is with our 4th win on the trot ?!! Tempo increased, players played in right positions, forward balls, Brophy in on the left wing, Turley back from the cold, players playing in a more positive way as opposed to sideways , backwards etc. Mmm, hopefully, we haven't left it too...

JMD stars for winning Crawley side playing 442
Interesting that Crawley have won three on the bounce and have played themselves into playoff contention. They are six points off but with two games in hand. Interesting that JMD is starring for Crawley on the right wing putting in deliveries to TWO central strikers. They have averaged about 10 shot...

Credit to Jobi - steady as you go
Great to see that even though Jobi played 433, he played players in the right positions . ! Surely that's the basics with Brophy on the wing !! Unfortunately , anything was possible previously.... Jobi is still playing a steady as you go hand of cards but most of us would do the same . Clever on Job...

Team i'd like to see under new manager
Whoever we bring in , i'd like to see a manager who fundamentally selects a team that is set up to win rather than a team set up not to lose. Id like the manager to simply put players in their correct positions playing to their strengths with the message to get out and get at em . I want a manager w...

This 433 formation (451) is a disaster
If anyone who watched us this season, with this negative 'do not lose at any cost' formation thinks it the way forward, i despair. No shots on goal tonight. One goal in six games. DJ isolated and barely gets a touch. A centre forward on the wing with a rookie on the other (who played ok tonight.) Me...

Cambridge Manager - refreshing words
Refreshing to hear the comments of the Cambridge manager after their 3 nil win which leaves them top. "We are enjoying the situation we are in and the shackles are off. Attack and have a go. Why not ? There's no pressure on us, we need to enjoy it." These are the comments i'd like to hear ...

Re: Ross Embleton post match interview - P. Vale
A good manager would have been bitterly disappointed that we managed to only draw at home against a team sitting in 19th place. A good manager wouldn't have been pleased with that first half but Ross said that this was how he expected it to pan out ! A good manager would have thrown caution to the w...

What we learnt from today
1. Ross spent too much time with Steve Davis with this style of slow , boring sideways tippy tappy football . 2. This 433 formation simply doesn't work making central strikers isolated and given very few opportunities. Just ask Abrahams who barely touched the ball in first half. Shame that 442 will ...

Re: Exiles thread - Colchester (H)
This is Steve Davis type football. Slow, boring and unadventurous. No matters what players we get in, Embleton likes this style of play.. 442 is far too dangerous for him to revert to as tippy tappy slow safety football is all he knows.

Re: Exiles thread - Crawley (A)
Same 433 formation that doesn't work without DJ who converts one in two of the few chances we make, , same front three, same weak link at the back.. Brophy again wasted.. I am very very worried that its going to be same as..

Ha ! Tuffers is right for once and makes sense ! Progress !! Once we turn to footballing matters it could be a different story but we all live in hope !! Like an attacking 442 formation !! Up the O's !!

The Embleton question
Well, after 24 games and 36 points , it seems that us O's supporters (who are looking for the same goal ) are split into two camps. Its either pro Ross or anti Ross with nothing in the middle. Well , if we all take a breath and and analyse this, I reckon all of this debate is because we possibly hav...

Team selection
Ok. So to get this straight we have : One winger playing at left back and the other winger on the bench. We have two centre forwards stuck out on the wings replacing our actual wingers. We still have Johnson on his own in the middle. The midfield including Cisse stays the same even though Kyprianou ...

Players we have are more suited to 442 formation
It seems to me that whatever happens in a game we seem to be fixated by this 433 system. However, surely the formation we have should be governed by the players we have at our disposal. For example , take the Crawley game. Embleton himself even admitted after the game that Angol's best position was ...
