Re: El miz
Brilliant news. Said to my (Posh supporting) son, who didn’t want Ipswich to go up, that from my perspective the only chance we had of getting El Miz back was if they did go up. According to rumours we weren’t the fancied team to get him either, after it was announced that he was going out on loan a...

Have seen a fair bit of him at Posh (son supports them), would be a decent acquisition, was a little surprised they let him go.

Re: Smyth to QPR
The Club is annoyed with Smyth because he strung them along for a bit, that’s all. Vigs going has been nailed on for a very long time, partly because his offer was something that Orient could never compete with, whereas there was less of a gap between Orient’s and QPR’s. As someone posted earlier, ...

Re: Squad/ starting 11 as it stands
Struck me last night we’ve arguably lost our best three players from last season (Vigs/ El Miz/ Smyth), which leaves a massive hole, plus Kelman from the starting line-up too, so are currently looking way down on where we need to be. But no panic, sure it’s in hand, hoping to see some good names com...

Re: Nottingham murders
Such events, especially the student deaths, hit near to home – Nottingham was one of the potential destination unis we visited for my son (who ultimately went to Lincoln, he completed degree last summer). Know the city fairly well and was up there only last month and in Milton Street too where the v...

Agree re Humphrey Bogart and many other names mentioned. Were lots from that ‘golden’ era who one could quote – I’d throw in James Cagney, Edward G Robinson & Clark Gable too

Re: EPL/EFL Firestick Poll
I occasionally dip into Now TV Sports for a month (=Sky Sports), e.g. last two months when they had an offer on and the season is more interesting with play offs included, but otherwise not, just pay for the O's TV as and when matches are on or Posh TV is watching with son (who supports them)

Basketball
American Football
Given the Formula 1 mentions above, will say I used to follow it big time but am totally bored with it now, never bother with it.

Re: Next Season's League2
Son & I were saying exactly the same thing, looks a real tough league. Wouldn't write-off Swindon or Grimsby being in the hunt for top seven either, and MK Dons will expect to go well.

Re: Coventry v Luton
If a team like Luton can reach the Premiership surly we as a club can reach the Championship,it must be achievable??? After all Wycombe,Burton and Peterbough had a go🙈 Do agree it gives the likes of us encouragement. At the time of posting Brighton are 6th, Brentford 9th, Bournemouth 15th, and whil...

Re: Johnson Clarke-Harris.
Son a Posh fan and it’s par for the course with them. Seem to have had a plethora of goalscorers over the past few years, more than comparable teams, and the policy of let go/ sell on is probably attractive for signing players, as they know they won’t be held onto if they have a chance for career pr...

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
Posh supporting son sick as a parrot – we watched on TV. Posh didn’t turn up second half, first half they showed signs of catching Wednesday on the break, but weren’t interested in trying to score after half time. Cruel for the equaliser to be 8 mins into stoppage time, cruel to lose on pens. When P...

Great to see, and good luck to them at Wembley.
Have got a mate who is a Hatters fan, and even he is pinching himself.
As said above, shows what is possible.

Re: Might as well get it out of our systems: what is an acceptable finish next season?
The first aim following promotion is to stay up and establish oneself in the league above, and I believe we should be well capable of doing that. OK so we don’t know the squad yet, but based on what happened last summer under RW I think he’ll get a decent squad together. I’d be happy with mid-table,...

Would hope that most of those offered contracts – League One contracts now – would sign up, but who knows what other offers they may have. Echo the sentiments on Craig Clay, top guy, great servant, wish him well. Same goes for Sarge come to that, always a decent number two, hope he’ll find a number ...

Re: Sheffield Wednesday
Streamed the game with son, who is a Posh fan. Posh on their day they can beat anyone at London Road, we saw them wallop Plymouth there a couple of months ago. Picking up on an earlier comment above on Hector, son says jury out for most Posh fans on him, though noticed in commentary last night it wa...

From a statto website … http://european-football-statistics.co.uk/attnclub/league/leyo.htm … it’s our highest average attendance since the 77/78 season. Even the 13/14 season when we got within a penalty shoot out of the Championship, we only averaged under 5,500. Our 12 year stay in the second tier...

Re: Kelman And Duke-McKenna
Kelman – couldn’t fault his work-rate, did well for us in that sense, and he’s an RW type of player, as is Drinan, but can’t help think we need a goalscorer to lead the line in L1, and there are only so many squad places available to be financed. Duke-McKenna – I liked what I saw of him, he wasn’t g...

Sad to hear the news, RIP Brian, and thanks for everything you did for our club. He was chairman when I was a kid, and oversaw us steer away from financial disaster, to the old Division Three title under Jimmy Bloomfield, and within a whisker of making it to the top-flight. Top guy. I thought Arthu...
