Re: Births Deaths And Marriages
Blair recounting that, after he punched the guy with a mullet, they had to call a press conference and all he said was "Well, John is John!" and that was that. Can only imagine how swift and brutal the condemnation would be these days, he'd have been out on his arse by the time his fist wa...

Re: Labour Watch
Down here in Wales we've had 25 years of wasted money, vanity projects, the poor getting poorer, the NHS in chaos with waiting lists the highest in the UK, poorest education standards in UK, subsidising a failed airport, listening to nobody in Wales, made a hash of COVID and everyone driving around...

Re: Club to be banned from making noise?
There really is a f***ing scandal in how a minority of nimby moaners have been very useful in the gentrification process of areas that actually has stuff that’s valuable to the community Don’t worry. It also happens in the countryside. The amount of people moaning about the Cockerel making noise at...

Could have been away to Burton, Exeter or Cheltenham in the other side of the draw. Seems a convoluted system.

Ah, apparently we're now on the Suffragette line. Good to see in the explanatory notes that they cite the Fawcett Society in Bethnal Green which, while no doubt a worthy institution, is not really anywhere near any of the stops between Gospel Oak and Barking.

Baffles me how you can have a line that has a legitimate nickname like GOBLIN and think you can improve on it with whichever one of these garbage ones they chose (is it Weaver? Or is that the one to Chingford?)

Re: What are you Watching Today Part 2
Was also about to post about Penguin, as finished it last night. As per Dunnem, Milioti was excellent, both lead actors were fantastic and the whole thing ticked along brilliantly. Thoroughly enjoyable spin-off, with room for more without being reliant on any DC crossovers or the like (although: spo...

If Sid gave the farming industry a tenner every time he mentioned his ACL tear in the 60s, they'd be able to call off their current protests about inheritance tax.

Re: Club to be banned from making noise?
how many complaints ?.... 100s or 1000s of people signing a petition - marching down Leyton High Road (quietly of course)... no ... a grand total of 22 And doesn't/didn't even say if that was complaints from 22 people, or fewer people banging in loads of complaints. Hard to know the scale of the is...

Re: Club to be banned from making noise?
Article has now been removed by the looks of it. I was interpreting it that it was more to do with the club letting out space for parties etc than the noise on Matchdays. If I'm right then it may well spell the end of the club being able to generate revenue by letting out space. That's how I read i...

Re: Club to be banned from making noise?
Tbf, from the tone of the article, I'd take a guess that the couple featured have lived near the ground for a good while and are more vexed at the increase in its usage, outside of matchday. But they also sound older and therefore more likely to be affected/moan.

Not just London, happening everywhere. People complain about nightlife taking a hit while others complain - seemingly more vociferously/annoying the right people - if it exists at all.

I know we hire the pitch out but how many 'noisy' non-football events do we put on? Business Breakfasts? Weddings? All night raves?

https://walthamforestecho.co.uk/2024/11/19/leyton-orient-noise-overwhelming-for-residents/ No Rockin' All Over the World after midweek wins? It is pleasingly close to the Arsenal training centre.
