Re: Solar panels
So many of them as well, doesn’t seem like the sort of thing you’d spend money if you were seriously looking for a new ground in the next few years. They’re not cemented in. No they’re not, but you wouldn’t generally take them with you as the technology is improving rapidly and these ones will like...

Re: another quiet evening on this board
Yawn - We get this thread every time we win after a set of poor games. Does anyone really, REALLY, believe we have supporters who are only happy when we lose. Because that sounds as daft as it is, and those suggesting it seem to be virtue signalling that they're in some way the "better" su...

I don't think anyone doubts he's a lovely bloke, but we have to believe that everything football related goes through him. I'm sure we've all encountered tradesmen who'll tell you "I've been doing the job 30 years mate, no worries", then turn out not to be up to it. I think there's an elem...

Re: How much longer can Nigel sustain the losses?
What do you mean by a major clear out? I mean taking a cold, hard look at each part of the organisation and seeing if it is paying its way and doing the very best job it can do. Do I think the DoF team is doing a great job - no I don't. Do I think the commercial team could get better sponsors with ...

Re: How much longer can Nigel sustain the losses?
I think the ego's of rich men always make them think they can do a better job than whoever went before. I do think there are things we can do to make the club sustainable at this level, but it requires a major clearout and a renewed focus on things that can generate money if done properly, like scou...

Re: Foods that you didn’t realise you liked
Overnight oats. Wife ate it for years and I poo-pooed it until I eventually gave it a go. Now I’m a convert and have it every day, it’s probably my healthiest meal to be honest. Just porridge oats, a handful of wonky frozen berries, some frozen banana slices, some chopped nuts and seeds. Cover it a...

Re: Would we be better off in L2?
Under Hearn we was a top league 1 side for 11 years on the trot and almost got into the championship if we didn’t lose on pens. So league 1 should be our level, shows what a great job Barry Hearn did and all the fans did was moan about him not putting his hand in his packet. Let’s keep Barry’s pack...

Re: Would we be better off in L2?
Trouble is you're only one bad season away from non-league in L2 and no-one wants to go there. Obviously we've not seen the numbers, but it feels like L1 might be sustainable if we kept the non-playing side as lean as possible, up-ed our commercial game with some decent sponsors, didn't spunk money ...

Re: Harris v. Trump
I have no idea how this is going to turn out, but I think it's fair to say it's going to be close either way, and that means the Republicans won't accept the results and will throw every spanner going into the works until the Supreme Court have to decide - and we know how that will probably end. So...

Re: Starmers definition of WorkingClass
I'm not disagreeing with the entirety of what you said, it's more nuanced. There are barriers to home ownership, but it's not simply the existence of the rental market that is the issue - which I am saying for at least a quarter of people is a "good" thing. I'd guess the main barrier is af...

Re: Starmers definition of WorkingClass
The issue ultimately is that your take there doesn’t reflect the reality. The rental market isn’t there as a cheap or similar priced alternative to buying for those who want the flexibility and the short term planning that rental allows - the rental market consists of a very very high number of wor...

I'm not a massive fan of Ling but the amount of deflection on to him on here is madness Which metrics would you use to assess Lings performance? That's the rub isn't it. Ling, Richie and the board all take a share of the blame. Individually not all of it, but collectively most of it. We're operatin...

Suggesting Netflix or Amazon would buy Orient because another show about two globally-followed Hollywood superstars buying a team was a big hit, is possibly one of the most bonkers things I've read on here.

What exactly do you think Labour will do for you. Is it just that you want others to squirm and suffer. They will do the same for yo...
