Re: What heights could we reach
Who knows what the future holds? I’m fairly confident that the worst is now behind us. I honestly can’t see us in the conference ever again (unless something catastrophic happens). I’d settle for a decade of L2/L1 football. A promotion to league 1 thrown in there. Establishing ourselves as a top hal...

Re: Salford already
Football at every level is littered with vanity projects. Most have failed, and the only ones that have succeeded have been at or near the top end and have involved established clubs, the most recent being Leicester City. AFC Bournemouth are another example but they have the huge advantage of being...

Re: Salford already
I can see Salford and, to a lesser extent Flynde, doing a Rushden & Diamonds. When they do stall the crowds will tail off, the interest will dry up and so will the money. I can see Flynde going tits up in the next 5 or 6 years, maybe 10. Salford will just stall and end up like Stockport or Roch...

No, I was too busy p*ssing into the trophy and purposely standing in front of old people to block their view.Apple Wumble wrote: ↑Sat Jun 01, 2019 6:05 pm Is that Esteban in the corner of the dressing room, ruining it for everyone? Or maybe Jarvis and his son?

Re: Salford already
Salford will buy their way into the Championship. Whatever it takes, they will do, and however much it costs they will spend I honestly don’t think they will. Why would Championship level players want to play in front of 3000 fans at Salford? You’d have to offer them ridiculous wages to get them to...

Something which has always bugged me: why is it called “handball”?
Wouldn’t “armball” be more appropriate?

Re: Salford already
Only cared about Salford when they were a serious threat to us regaining league status. Now we’re there I couldn’t give less of a t*ss about them. For what it’s worth I still think that my original prediction about them will come true. They will end up in league 1 in a couple of years and then plate...

Re: Ranking all 22 players from Orient’s title winning campaign
Overall it’s a reasonable list. What baffles me is why so many players have a moment from the tinpot trophy as their moment of the season. There’s no way thatthe most important things Dan Happe and Joe Widdowson did all season occurred in that pointless competition.

Apologies to Spen666
I went out of my way to start a thread having a go at him previously so it’s only fair I do the same thing when he genuinely impresses me.
His spectacular take down of Islamophobia (which is rather worryingly going unchecked on this board) deserves applause.
Fair play to you, sir.

Right, I have been doing other things since I posted and not been online. I was not running away! Typical, when people do controversial things and hide behind Religion, people shout out Racism etc! I am not sure you understand what you are talking about Race & Religion are completely separate th...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
To cut a long (and boring) story short, you got the boot for telling a colleague to f*ck off after he asked you to do your job. Said colleague happened to be a muslim so now you go around football message boards posting Islamophobic drivel in some bizarre form of revenge.

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
Wrong again. Not defending Islamophobia but just asking a question why attacking white people on the colour of their skin is acceptable? Where did I say it was? Even more amusing is that you're trying to claim that my lack of protest against the use of the word "gammon" must mean that I d...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
It might be connected to a political position but it is actually making fun of the colour and tone of their skin. Which is something that you ordinarily seem to be against. Trying to defend Islamophobia by claiming that I'm a hypocrite for not having too much sympathy for somebody else using the ph...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
The fact that you can't see the difference between making fun of somebodies political position and having a pop at somebodies race/religion/ethnicity, explains a lot. It might be connected to a political position but it is actually making fun of the colour and tone of their skin. Which is something...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
Why is a Leyton Orient message board slowly turning into a refuge for thinly veiled Islamophobia? Really, really disappointing and I seriously hope the admins take appropriate action. There is a wildly disproportionate amount of threads on this board about Islam, which is odd considering this is a ...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
There are far more threads on politics than Islam which is also odd considering that this is a football message board but I see no complaints about that. I presume that you also have no issue with the term Gammon being thrown at certain people which if a similar term was thrown at a non white strai...

Re: Ramadan In The 21st Century
WSS - so what do you expect to come out of this "serious discussion" then? Do you think we should make it illegal not to have something to eat or drink? or are you wanting to dial that back a bit, and just make it illegal to drive a bus/practice medicine/teach if you're from a certain rel...
