Re: Playoff run in

Like when we threw away a 2-0 lead v Colchester in injury time in our title winning season? We didn’t lose that game, only one of the goals was in injury time and Colchester weren’t a title contender. Charlton feels different because both goals came in injury time, we lost the game as a result, and...

Re: Playoff run in

Play-offs went for us when Charlton scored those two injury time goals. The two losses after that made it almost certain but a morale destroying loss like that Charlton game can derail an entire season, and certainly it can kill a play off run in. Mathematically it’s still possible for now but real...

George Moncur gone

https://www.leytonorient.com/news/2025/march/21/george-moncur-makes-permanent-move-to-ebbsfleet-united/ Makes his loan move to Ebbsfleet permanent. His time here was finished that afternoon he got subbed on and subbed off again at Burton. Oddly enough that was the same afternoon which ended Graham’s...

Re: Looking on the bright side

Bit early just yet but yes, agreed in principle - give Sweeney the last 6 games and let him know it’s his final chance. He's had his chance the past 3 games and also at the start of the season. Not good enough, off to L2 / NL in the summer. Would like to see Abdulai given CAM until end of the seaso...

Re: Jayden Sweeney

The Reverend... No, i'm not saying it's unacceptable, as you put it. I'm saying it's not really necessary to have one of our own players name put up as a heading with the intention to criticise and demean. Right. So to clarify: it’s unacceptable to criticise a Leyton Orient player on a Leyton Orien...

Re: Jayden Sweeney

Maybe it's better to now drop the subject on Sweeney as a few people on here seem to get irritated if you happen to say that he's not quite up to standard. It’s fair to call out poor performances, but after a team performance like yesterday where he was nowhere near the worst on the pitch, it seems...

Looking on the bright side

With play-offs now out of reach and relegation extremely unlikely we now basically have 10 free hits to play. I suppose it’s better than the anxiety of a relegation dog fight or the disappointment of missing out on something on the last day of the season. It’ll probably mean that Wellens becomes sli...

Re: Encore pareil next season

Yeah, we’ve not had any benefit from Kelman, donely, keeley etc… Read again, we won't benefit next season from whatever they've learnt this year unless their parent clubs are feeling particularly generous in letting them come back for a second spell So? We probably won’t benefit from Galbrai...

Re: New investors

Investors don’t give a sh*t about the last 5, 10 or even 20 results. All they care about is: 1. What division will the club be in (to which the answer is clearly league 1) 2. How sustainable are they at this level (pretty stable) 3. What’s the potential for expanding engagement and fanbase for the c...

23 years old and light years away from from league 1 standard. I’d get rid in the summer if possible

Re: Play Offs are Gone

If we don’t make the play offs a more interesting question is what happens next season? Kelman, Donley, Keeley & Currie all key players and all on loan. Donley will almost certainly be loaned out to a Championship club Kelman has significantly increased his value this season and will either have...

Re: Is tonight a MUST win?

Having looked at the data from the last ten seasons (excluding the Covid season 2019-20): On average a club needs 74 points to make the play-offs. The range is a low of 69 points and a high of 83 If we lose tonight we’ll be on 53 points with 11 games to play. Best case scenario is we’ll need 16 poin...

https://www.facebook.com/OfficialCAFC/videos/994271545975959/?app=fbl That’s football, innit. Sometimes you just have to sit there and eat a bucket of sh*t. Not much you can do about it. On another day it’ll be you in the away end celebrating a last minute winner. I like to think that over the cour...

Can’t blame the bloke. Some fans dish it out relentlessly and then lose their heads when they got a little bit back.

Most of us would do the same in Jones’ position.

It's probably a foul but nuts that he didn't learn from the corner we'd just conceded from and adjusted his starting position. Got himself into the exact same issue, which is a reflection of inexperience. I don’t know that he can change his starting position. Keepers always start centrally nowadays...

Re: Currie Red

Refs should have a maximum attendance award, depending on their experience. Saying they can referee games up to a certain division is meaningless. Not all L1 games are the same. 1,500 people watching Cambridge v Burton in L1 does not require the same level of official as 30,000 watching Birmingham ...
