The Tories didn't need any help from the Lib Dems to do that. It was always on the cards.

Re: Eurovision watch

Heh. He'll need the performance to grab voter's attention, as the song just isn't strong enough on its own. Thought he's channeling the ghost of George Michael's "Outside" slightly with the set design.

He can probably rule out the Eastern European Catholic and orthodox vote though.

Re: Eurovision watch

Nah, I have to disagree. You're not going to anything too cerebral, profound or innovative, but there's always a decent selection of decent, surface-level pop. And the quirky, weird stuff has always been there and is part of what makes it fun. That, and the political voting.

Re: Eurovision watch

Russia was excluded in response to their invasion of Ukraine. Yet the organisers seem to be going to great length to pretend that the Gaza atrocity is not happening. Some are going to great length to pretend the October terror attacks didn't happen. They occasionally throw in a token "what Ham...

Re: How many is a few?

When somebody asks you if you want some of their Maltesers without specifying exactly how many they mean by that, then they deserve everything that's coming their way. Huh? Are they letting you take or handing them to you as I meant? A few is surely subject to the circumstances we find ourselves in...

Re: How many is a few?

Anyway, if she said do you want a “few” I would expect four, and I’d decline on the basis that I’d end up wanting more or going to the shops to buy a couple of packets. Now if she said “do you want SOME?”, well then I’d be intrigued as to whether she was up for sharing the whole packet or not, but ...

Eurovision watch

I'm quite partial to the fun campness of it all, so will be watching. But mainly to laugh at the twee, rubbish acts and moan about why so many now insist on singing in English instead of their own funny little languages. I see the UK entry has, after a brief spell of putting forward a half-decent so...
