Re: Last nights ref
Like the scorpion, Professional footballers would find it almost impossible to change their ways. I saw a fullback the other night in splendid isolation. He tried to knock it down the line and shanked it out for a throw- in. His hand immediately shot up claiming the throw. They can't help themselves

Re: Last nights ref
So, if referees start regularly awarding penalties at corner kicks, the fouling will stop. Hmm. I am reminded of the story off the scorpion and the frog. A scorpion arrives at a river bank and wishes to cross. Being a non-swimmer, he spies a frog and asks if it will carry him across the river on it'...

Re: Last nights ref
You make it sound so simple. The point I am making is that the referee has an almost impossible job with 20 players all grappling with each other. Which incident do you penalise - they're all at it! Why would you necessarily penalise the defending team? Look at how Stockport managed to (illegally) ...

Re: Last nights ref
OK. Which foul does he penalise? There are likely to be multiple fouls occurring at the same time by players from both sides All of them. Warn them and then follow it through. I don’t think it’s overly complex. As soon as they start to enforce the rules the fouls will stop. It’s ridiculous that if ...

Re: Last nights ref
You imply that is only the defending team who are guilty of all the nonsense that goes on at a corner but the attacking team are often just as bad

Re: Last nights ref
The pushing, pulling, blocking off, throwing players to the ground etc at corner kicks has just gotten ridiculous at all levels of the game. Impossible to referee really. I seriously think something radical needs to be done. Maybe limiting the amount of players allowed in the box when the kick is ta...

Despite not playing particularly well, we still drew with a very decent Stockport side. Our tremendous away form we see us through

Re: Central line
I understand that pump trolleys will be available on the Central Line on Saturday. You know, those little carts that you used to see in old Westerns where two guys pump a handle up and down to propel a little cart along the tracks. Max capacity is 6 though, so plan your journey carefully How does o...

Re: Can you imagine…….?
After gathering only 8 points from the first 11 league games, I thought that the story was going to be strictly of the horror variety. The turnaround was remarkable and I think it may be written in the stars that this side will go all the way to The Championship. Not so sure what will happen when we...

We need Trumpet to use all of his diplomacy skills to defuse this situation immediately. After ending the Ukrainian war in his first day in office this should be piece of cake for him

I thought our chance had gone as Cambridge seemed to drag us down to their level second half. But they never give up. Great stuff

Re: The Guardian
I buy the papers at the weekend only, Guardian and Observer. What I really want is a weekly paper or magazine that has no news, but recipes, food reviews, sport, stuff about films, books and tv and a Stewart Lee column. Does such a thing exist anymore? I want mid nineties NME combined with the BBC ...

Re: Exiles Thread.
Donley voted Man of the Match? He improved a lot second half (as did they all) but surely it was a choice between Kelman and Galbraith. No matter though, just thrilled with that comeback

He has good close control and is hard to be dispossessed, the problem is what does with the ball after that. There could definitely be a player in there but maybe needs some specialist coaching or something

No, he thinks there's an opportunity for lots of Americans to get very, very rich. It's going to be beautiful. Riches like you've never seen before. Actually, it's going to be even better than that. There will be so much money that they'll need to acquire another country to store all the money. And ...

Re: The Far North
I've taken the ferry from Aberdeen to Lerwick but nothing would entice me to spend 14 hours on a train. I have also flown from Aberdeen to Shetland. Not to Lerwick though, you land at Sumburgh in the south of the main island. I picked up a hire car and had to drive across the runway to exit the airp...
