Re: Catchy Names
French club Le Puy Foot 43 is quite a good name, although chanting may be problematic. My local Highland League club, Deveronvale is quite nice as is Clachnacuddin. Albion Rovers must have the dullest name in Scottish football. Bill Shankly played for Glenbuck Cherrypickers in Ayrshire and they prod...

Re: Blue Cards
I’d say yes, easily. My count tonight will confirm 😀 Update please. It was 89% accidental fouls and just 14% deliberate. Case closed. Blimey, the ref must have been crap. Genuinely accidental collisions shouldn't really be given as a foul. There has to be carelessness, recklessness or excessive for...

Re: Blue Cards
Of course they are. They may not deliberately go in to a tackle with the intention of kicking someone on the shin, but by the careless and clumsy nature of the tackle, they know they ain't winning the ball You come out with such a load of crap! I thought that one of the conditions of your release f...

Anybody watch the ITV documentary on Monday about the Ukraine war? Reporter Sean Langan following Russian troops about, getting their perspective on the war. Interesting stuff certainly, but I still find the relationship between ordinary Ukrainians and Russians confusing

I'm so glad you're here where would we all be without your unique wisdom and knowledge ? Thanks. I know from your previous posts that you're a bit thick, so anything that helps improve you're knowledge can only be a good thing I'm actually taking the p1ss out of you but you're too thick to see it O...

I'm not trying to justify the destruction in Gaza. My point was in relation to the initial post which stated that Netanyahu was in many ways very similar to Hitler.

Re: Israel
Netanyahu shows a callous disregard for civilians in his quest to eliminate Hamas. Horrific, but hardly unique among wartime leaders. RAF and allied bombers killed 40,000 civilians in one night by dropping thousands of incendiary devices on Hamburg. Does that mean that Churchill was in many ways ve...

Re: Israel
Israel can do what it wants with impunity. No one ever sanctions them, and its been this way for over 7 decades. Anyone who dares to criticise Israel is immediately labelled an anti semite etc etc . Its been obvious, for months that Netanyahu wants all Palestinians killed or removed from Gaza, unti...

Re: Blue Cards
Must be an average of 15 to 25 fouls given most games. Some even more. Are most of them just genuine accidents? Don't think so, although I accept that they are not all necessarily malicious

Re: Blue Cards
Virtually all fouls in the professional game are quite deliberate. Surely that suggests a level of cynicism in all fouls. Is a kick on the ankle less deserving of punishment than a little tug of a shirt? Yellow cards are already given for so called tactical fouls and if it is hoped that players will...

Re: Blue Cards
I don't understand what problem they're trying to solve, but this would certainly cause all sorts of new problems for referees and players alike. Ridiculous idea. Not sure but presumably it's to solve the problems of dissent and cynical play. Just a guess. Can you give the definitions for foul play...

Re: Most trouble you’ve seen at a football match
PS. On our way home, we met in with another Celtic fan from our village. I asked if he had witnessed the fighting. Yes, he replied "I was in the thick of it. It was magic" Takes all sorts I suppose
