Re: Vote for your best War Beer

Best war beer tasted was Long Tom Lager in S Africa. It is named after a 25 ft gun used by the Boers when fighting the Brits in the second Boer War. Although called lager, it is a dark beer with a slightly sweet fruity taste. Delish.

Re: Euro 2024

Scotland will be leading 1-0 v Hungary, it will be another OG as that’s the only way The Scots can score 😉 Hungary will then break the Scottish hearts with a 90th min goal to send Scotland crashing out at the group stage of a major football tournament once again. The press and pundits will all be, ...

Re: Euro 2024

Gerard and Lampard never worked well playing together, sometimes you just lose out if two good players are vying for the same spot. Classic example of that being Clemence and Shilton. Gerard and Lampard playing together may not have worked well, but I think Clemence and Shilton playing together wou...

Re: Who are you supporting - Serbia v England

I see that the table and chair throwing competition has begun in Gelsenwhatsit. The Serbs might give the English a run for their money this time Apparently it's Abanians v Serbians. Some England fans got caught in the crossfire. Does England not have any throwers there for this tournament? Jeez. Ki...

Re: Euro 2024

I find it mildly interesting watching matches and discovering where most of the Premier League players come from. I mean, obviously, if I was that interested, I could find out beforehand, but I'm not really. Who knew Akanji of Man C and Schar of Newcastle were Swiss? Not me obviously. Or that Chelsk...

Might not be as silent as I thought. There is to be a march of 150 pipes and drums from Haymarket to Tynecastle accompanied by the O's Bugle Band ( who knew? ). Sounds, um, interesting

Quality player, but undoubtedly a jinx (as Bayern Munich discovered this season) England will need to drop him if they wish to win anything

Back in the glory days of the 70's, the away kit was blue and yellow. Looked great. Would be considered too gaudy nowadays I suppose where black or grey seems to be the in thing
